Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I was on my way home from a quick trip to Canada so that window has closed. Aimee is probably a couple hours from there though.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I did not get ltc up quick enough from her nap for her liking. So she somehow got out of her sleep sack and threw it on the floor to show her displeasure. This kid is too much.

I am seeing Hedwig in Boston this summer for my birthday present from TCG!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

The tickets were pricey but I'll be 40 this summer. The show is about one month before my birthday. So, I think I'll just start celebrating then!

It's a matinee, and I think we're going to try to go to the new Eataly in Boston after that.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Why does it kind of hurt to realize your ex has moved on even when you have moved on?

Because he should still be pining over your absence and the majesty that is you.

You guys I just sent off my first real job estimate for someone who isn't a friend. BLARGH. Current boss reviewed it for me and gave me some suggestions. I feel like I'm asking too much (boss thinks I'm asking too little). BLARGH. Can I have some "accept the quote" ~ma?

This is always one of the hard parts of writing an estimate. I spend a lot of time helping my design students learn how to value their work.

Here is one thing I do to try to help them out. Look at what your weekly budget is, the amount you need to bring in to cover all of your expenses, then look at the amount of time the project you are estimate will take, including things like writing the estimate, getting supplies, etc. Take your weekly costs, divide them by 40, take that number and multiply it by the number of hours this project will take, then add in materials cost. That's the absolute bare minimum the project needs to bring in assuming you are gainfully employed for a 40 hour week. Make sure your estimate is that number plus a healthy margin (Doubling that number is quite fair) and you can have a good ballpark for a starting estimate charge.
