Fred, I'm so sorry. It's always so hard, even when it's the kindest thing to do.
ION, it's been 6 weeks since I got my IUD out, and I officially have my period back. It's been 10 1/2 years since I had one, and I forgot how to have a period. Good god.
My sympathies. Menopause is great.
I sort of had that feeling when I started getting my period every month. going from 2 or 3 a year to 12 is just... not fun.
The stick on heating pads are nice, not as nice as an actual heating pad but the heat goes with you.

My experience exactly, except it took almost 3 months to come back. I thought I was in menopause at last, but no. We're back to the regularly scheduled crimson tide.
(University of Alabama fans, I'd say I'm sorry, but I'm not.)
Things you learn when you get your first period in 10 1/2 years: I actually LIKE chocolate-covered peanuts. Who knew?
Thank you for the sympathies. Hubs is taking this particularly hard -- he and Arthur had really bonded.
He was very lucky to have you guys.
Much love to you and Hubs, Fred.
I'm very sorry for both you and hubs, Fred.
Fred I'm so sorry. SuziQ too :(

I remember that feeling with great lack of love. After 20 years on the pill straight through (no placebo pills, no breaks, no periods) having to stop on account of the adenoma sucked. Took me at least 8 months to get back to anything resembling a normal cycle. Sim sit after both (failed) IUD attempts: there were a few months of instability while hormones re-balanced. I have fallen in love with Thinx and Bella Cup (little sister of Diva Cup for smaller vaginas). One alone works, but the two together is perfection and allows me to continue swimming and everything else I want to do without focusing on the detritus flowing out of my body.
I've also kinda fallen in love a little with getting acupuncture during my flow. Then I focus on collecting all the pains and negative thoughts and trying to untie them from wherever they are tangled and tie them instead to the sloughing uterine wall so that I can flush them down the drain after.
