Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

brillig

I should be due for my quarterly period about now. My body is holding on to Not Quite Menopause by its fingernails.

Edit: Give it up, body! We'll be 56 in two months, there ain't no baby coming out of this factory!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My body has a different agenda for my life than I do.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Yeah, I asked my OB/GYN if I could skip a third IUD since I'm probably close to menopause, and she said "Not close enough." (I know there's a bell curve, so maybe I am about to hit menopause at 45, but I'm not willing to take that chance.)

Our wings are not tired.

Yeah, at 47 I was one of the younger people I knew.

I'm 53 and the Old Lady is still dragging her feet. My sister was already done by now!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

It hit blessed me around 47, too. I have not missed the red menace.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Yeah, when I went off BC pills, the first couple of periods (or rather, pre-period symptoms) were astonishing. Like, worse than I ever remember them being before. I couldn't make up my mind if I was just misremembering or if my Lady Parts were like, "Control US for years on end?! Screw you, lady! How you like me now!?"

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Periods are the worst part about no longer having an IUD.

I'm 56 and have only been period free for about 8 months.

I'm amazed by how NOT different I feel.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I have no internal/chemical BC choices open to me right now. So, it's condoms when IT happens again. If it ever does. Which, I have no real hope for in the near future.

I've considered having the ablation done and being done with it, but I just ... can't yet. It might be really stupid. It might be really, really stupid. But ... I'm just not ready to let go of that yet.
