I'm ok with it, but I am a little boggled: is this middle age? I am not middle-aged, am I? I AM?! How did this happen? This is not my beautiful house!

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Bifocals, hairs on your chin, making noises when you stand up--I know.
I need new glasses. mine are progressives, but they are very scratched and I don't think they really fit my head, they leave groove over my ears and not because they are heavy. They are light but I think my head is fatter than it was when I bought them 8 years ago.
It's weird to gain weight in your skull and not just your face.
Leonard Cohen is gone.
Oh, fuck 2016.
Leonard - RIP. Dang.
I have glasses I won't need after tomorrow - too bad it isn't as easy as just sending them to one of you. I actually really like one of my new pairs. Hmmmm. Maybe I'll see if I can get sunglass lenses put in them.
Between the election results and my SAD, I have not yet managed to go to work today. Even though my workplace is almost all black and Honduran men, who likely supported her, it doesn't feel safe. I'm already really struggling with this work environment and I just don't have the armor right now. But we're behind and I'm broke and and I already took Wednesday off. I don't know what to do.
And I just asked my roommate if he would take Frankie out on occasion (I cleaned up three accidents yesterday) and he declined because he "doesn't want to be responsible for him outside." This is the guy whose dog had to be put to sleep a few weeks ago and who I took out almost every day when I got home, unasked, because she clearly needed to pee and I'd rather take her out than clean up after her.
If I could pick some Buffistas brains for a moment: Ryan's been taking music lessons at school, learning the recorder for the last couple of years. (The instrument of choice for the Second Doctor, so that's nice.) Next year, he'll be moving up to something a bit more complex. We were thinking he'd probably do the clarinet. His music teacher has told us that he might be better suited to the saxophone instead.
Does anyone have experience with either the sax or the clarinet? Any thoughts or suggestions when making the choice for our near-Year Three?
I'm sorry, smonster. I don't know how one comes to terms with all this.
