I am not...I am not the damsel in distress. I am not some case. I have to work this. I've lived in a cave for 5 years in a world where they killed my kind like cattle. I am not going to be cut down by some monster flu. I am better than that. What a wonder...how very scared I am.

Our wings are not tired.

We have a tracker task type thing we use at work for customer and development projects. It is pretty visual and useful, although annoying as can be with the daily activity emails and such. I could add another project or two for house type stuff. I should do that this weekend. Why not make my todo list more overwhelming by being in one place?

That sounds like it worked out best, WS. Good to know you both got the position and get to have help and advice.

Bookmarking the bullet journal links for later.

Thessaly just left, and I fear I was not very good company because I'm cranky and have a headache from the rain. But ltc was so pleased to see her.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Congrats, Andi!

Damn you all, now I want a bullet journal.

They're awesome! Seriously, I've never felt this organized, and this is practically the only organizational system I've ever tried that actually works with the way my brain works. The major modification that I made to the basic system is that I do weekly pages -- I make a two-page spread with a box for each day, and on Friday night (it made the most sense for my week to start on Saturday), I go through and figure out what work stuff I need to do on what day and plan that out, so that I don't end up doing nothing on Monday and then realizing I have eighty things to do on Tuesday.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I used to do pretty well with a pocket-sized calendar/organizer. And I definitely have random journals sitting around.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm sorry you were too cranky to enjoy your visit with Thessaly.

I am needing some kind of calm~ma for my family, with a side order of accept that it will work out ~ma. You may remember a month ago my nephew totally ruined a number of people's lives including his own, but most horribly the man who died as a result of him stealing a car and having a head on crash. Charges were finally filed. Leaving the scene of an accident with death, vehicular homicide, grand theft auto, reckless driving, driving without a license, and more. Crimes committed on his 18th birthday while partying. He'll be turning himself in today as he was out on a small bond while it was being investigated. No idea what the bond will be, but rather than putting up their house as collateral for a kid that frankly can not be trusted to not run away, we are expecting him to stay in jail until after his trial. The idea being that he obviously is going to have to serve time so he may as well get started in the downtown jail and have that time count toward his eventual sentence.

Just sick to my stomach because there are no good outcomes here. Just pain for all involved. DH is over at his brother's house now lending emotional support. I haven't seen my nephew. I don't think I can without breaking down.

Any kind of ~ma that will help, Laura.

I can't even.

I still use a Day-Timer. When I w/h/i/p/ get it out in meetings, people gasp like I'm their own personal Christopher Lloyd. I've managed to avoid a blackberry for work all these years, so I never made the transition. I do have an iPhone for personal use, and there is an app that hooks me into Outlook, but I've never felt comfortable storing personal appointments there.

Oh, Laura. That's so hard. Strength to you and your family.

All kinds of ~ma for your family, Laura. And thank you. I'm supposed to be going out with friends tomorrow and I'm starting to panic. I just want to hide in bed for a week.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

So much ~ma to your family, Laura. Strength and courage and whatever peace and resolution people are able to find or make.

I have a Frankenstein Dayrunner-timer that I put together myself, with self-created inspiration pages, and sections for a two-page per week calendar, a monthly calendar that I carry birthdays and annual reminders forward from last year's. There's a now-defunct section for phone and addresses, a section with notepaper in case writing inspiration strikes, and sketch paper, ditto. There are business card holders, photo pages, zip bags for pens, erasers, rubber bands, and paper clips. A lot of it is no longer relevant, but it no longer goes everywhere with me, either. But it's open on my desk, and I do keep track of current things in it, and bind and store each year's pages, just in case I need to check back on something. I used to journal, and then bind those pages, the first six photos, here, but then I switched to bought blank books. Now I hardly journal at all.

I have my work outlook calendar and my gmail calendar and fb all on my phone, which is ideal for me. I usually need it to be on the calendar or I'll forget, although lately part of my problem is forgetting what day of the week or date it is anyway, so...
