Dawn: Is that supposed to scare me? Spike: Little tremble wouldn't hurt.

'The Killer In Me'

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

That's great, Steph! Worth waiting for, I hope.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Worth waiting for, I hope.

Definitely. It makes me feel a little ridiculous about how stressed I got.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

That's fantastic, Steph. It makes a big difference, having that buffer there.

No, you didn't know. That uncertainty? Stressful. Crazy stressful.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Wonderful news, Teppy! Re: Severance.

Other wonderful news, Pix! Re: Roxy's forever home.

Boo Hiss, Grr Argh, bonny. Wanna put me on the phone with that delightful personage, so I can very carefully explain why when there is a behavioral problem the first step is a physical exam? I got it from both human care and other species care angles.

I doubt anyone will be surprised that my annual evaluation went quite well. New supervisor guy who nominated me for that award gave me a "superior" overall. There is a raise that goes along with it. Not a huge one, but at this point any time they don't have to reduce wages due to reduced state funding, I am thankful.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I'm so relieved for you, Teppy. And don't feel foolish for worrying - although the end result is a very good one, the fact that they waited so long to communicate it to you was certainly worthy of a lot of stress.

So this means you can come to New Orleans for my birthday, yes?

It's...much more than I even hoped.

That's GREAT! And yet still, not a reason to have not been stressed--they weren't great about the communication, and left little reason to have a ton of faith! But glad it can end on a pretty good note, at least, and hope that it helps avoid future stress, even if there was already stress while waiting for it. Yay.

brillig

Are the taxes already taken out of it?

I'm going to ask that, Connie. (Hey, look who's awake with insomnia. Woo hoo.) The legal-ese letter said it would be included in the W-2 we receive next year, so I want to assume yes, but they weren't clear. But if taxes aren't taken out, I'll just set aside the appropriate amount.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh, Steph, that's great news. I'm really happy for you.

I feel better in knowing why I'm so tired

Take it from someone who lives in the Middle East: heat it exhausting. Siestas exist for a reason.
