Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
OK, the person who does the course scheduling for the math department says he'll look into it. Apparently the person in charge of scheduling rooms for the university quit a little while ago, and the new person doesn't really know what they're doing, so a lot of things are getting messed up.
A couple of friends and I went to a coffee shop for a knitting night tonight, which was fun. (Well, technically, I was crocheting.)
askye, I'm sorry. All sorts of ~ma for you and your grandmother.
Hil, I hope that it gets fixed soon. I was supposed to have classrooms moved both in high school and college to make it easier for me, and it always got messed up.
TCG is back to work after our Cape Cod vacation and ltc is cranky.
Grandma still hasn't had surgery yet the surgeon is running behind
My brain is disappointing. I was researching moving resources and discovered professional movers for what I need are in my budget and will do more of the work than I anticipated. So some of my existential dread transformed into hopeful anticipation. And I immediately became worried at feeling such an alien emotion, wondering what was wrong with me.
I wonder what I'll dread when I successfully move.
(for added brain weasels, I actually relax a little when I identify something to be concerned about, like I'm finding something to distract the bad fairies who go around looking for happy people they can curse.)
And I immediately became worried at feeling such an alien emotion, wondering what was wrong with me.
No, I get that. Do you also do the thing where, if you realize you aren't worrying about anything, you immediately start to worry because you wonder what you're forgetting?
Although, let me say: that's awesome that professional movers are in your budget! Seriously, what a load off. They're worth every penny if it's in your budget. (Also -- I'm only mentioning it because it's the kind of thing I didn't know -- it's standard to tip the folks who do the actual moving, unless they own the company. [Like if it's a small independent company that is literally 2 guys and a truck. Unlike the larger company named 2 Men And A Truck. Which is WAY more than just 2 guys and a truck.])
Do you also do the thing where, if you realize you aren't worrying about anything, you immediately start to worry because you wonder what you're forgetting?
You mean "I feel content and at peace. What am I missing?" Oh, yes.
re: movers--I've got a couple of thousand dollars that I've had squirreled away, and I've beaten down the Brain Puritans far enough that I feel comfortable using that money for my new place and moving instead of just sitting in the bank making barely 1% interest. It's what savings are *for*.
You mean "I feel content and at peace. What am I missing?" Oh, yes.
I have caught myself thinking, verbatim, "Shit, what am I not worrying about?!?" when I'm feeling chill.
It's what savings are *for*.
Yes indeed. Moving is a bitch, so hire those movers.
Oh, man, movers are totally worth it. I do not enjoy schlepping.
So "early afternoon" surgery has become 9 pm surgery. Grandma hasgone all day without being able to eat or drink although they've had her on IVs.
It's now a waiting game I'm not sure how long it will take. But my dad and his siblings are there and one uncle's ex wife (she livesin town and they'veonly been divorced a short time and are still friends)
