Epic, it's always good to see you.
And it's always good to be seen. Also ditto.
Waves back. Embraces those who are so inclined.
I took off Monday and Tuesday next week (because Tuesday is my birthday and I always try to take my birthday off and coming in one day then having a day off seemed silly), and I swear, the thought of those 4 days in a row off were the only reason I could face coming to work today. I can't wait until my sick/vacation time is not screwed up anymore so I can have an occasional mental health day, ISTG.
And because I can't let Steph corner the market on Birthday-ho-ness - though of course she is the original and bestest - but I'm 2 days older than her, so I need to get mine in before her [wow, stream-of-consciousness much?] Tuesday is my Birthday!
Man, one little Birthday Pimpin' Post and Bitches shuts down for a whole day? Weird.
I meant to reply to it yesterday, and again this morning, and...well, you see where that got me.
I wholeheartedly approve of taking your birthday off work! (Which I will not be doing, thank you freelancing.)

But you can wear jammies and a tiara without getting any weird looks - Kato doesn't judge! (At most he'll heavy sigh).
Wait, I'm supposed to wear jammies and a tiara on my birthday? Crud, I've been doing it all wrong
My birthday was a school holiday when I was a kid (before Monday holidays) so I have pretty much always taken the day off. I continue the tradition.
I have to run errands (and probably go out for a birthday meal) on my birthday, so jammies will not be the order of the day. They also would not fly in my office. Steph works in her living room, jammies are totally appropriate office birthday wear in that context!
Tiaras...well, not that anyone in my office would be surprised to see me in one, per se, but I might feel judged. In my living room? Tiaras hell yeah!

I like to take my birthday off because I like an unreasonable amount of birthday attention (see tagline; I'm pretty sure it was the last time I had to work on my birthday that led to it). If I'm working on my birthday, I don't get that attention and it makes me sad, or cross. So I take the day off, and mostly don't see much of anyone except family and servers, who do all remember to tell me happy birthday. And my petty little childish heart smiles.
My birthday is in the summer and the day before a holiday. So, I believe in at least several days of celebrating around my birthday.
I have actual plans this weekend. Yay, social life! (One of my work friends is having a cookout.)
