And the refill idea is good, but I also know that I am lazy, so I would think "I'll get up in a minute and get more", and then just . . not.

Well I suppose if you end up really disliking the color of the bigger mug you could probably find a way to redecorate it later. I'm sure Plaid makes a paint for that.
It's not that I dislike the color of the big mug; it's basic black, and the smaller one is a very pretty blue.
