The tube top solution worked for me when I was a B cup. Now I'm a DD and they need some support. I hate underwire; I'm sick of tight bands digging into my delicate flesh. I want something that doesn't bind under the bust/around the ribcage.

I haven't been able to stand wires since I was pregnant. Cupcake makes wonderful wireless nursing bras. Which is mostly what I've been using. Sadly it doesn't look like they make regular bras.

I haven't worn a wired bra (they should come with Bluetooth) since 2007. It's not just the wires. It's the tight band under the bust, digging in and chafing. (Please don't tell me I just don't have the right fit. I do. I've tried tighter and looser, it doesn't matter, either way after a couple hours it hurts.) I'm tired of being uncomfortable and having chafed spots. But going without is uncomfortable too. What I think would be ideal would be a sort of light compression garment shaped like a tank top, not trying to get "shaping", just enough to keep the boobs from flapping around.

I think those exist, like Spanx and such. I know Spanx are intended to pull stuff in, but depending on the size you get, it could just be supportive but not squeezy.

sj, my breasts were so sensitive during pregnancy and breast feeding that I both couldn't tolerate wires and couldn't really tolerate not wearing any support at all. I had back to back pregnancies so that was 4 years of super sensitivity. But rest assured they go back to feeling like regular ol' boobs after you decommission them.

Zen, you might want to look into comfort or sleeping bras. They've got more structure than sports bras and are more controlling rather than confining. And it seems very sad that there should be a category of bras designated "comfort". Instead of all bras being comfortable.

That is my issue. I've never worn wires. In the hot humid climate it is super easy to get irritations and worse under the breast. That is why I tend to prefer the camisole to avoid the elastic. The lack of support doesn't bother me.

I found this at Junonia. If it provides any hold at all, it'll be all right. I'mma buy one of the ugly colors on sale and see what happens.

Exactly the problem. In a drier cooler climate I might have no or fewer problems. Furthermore, cotton is a bad choice of fabric in warm humid conditions.

Grr. M-I-L am not "starving" my baby because I chose to hold off on solids until she is 6 months old.
