This is not funny. This... this is a morality tale about the evils of sake.

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Oh jeez, Ginger. Lots of lung ~ma.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Damn, Ginger. That's some bullshit.

I am dealing with Well Meaning White Folks on fb who preach that we are all the same and can we just stop talking about race, please. ISTFG.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

All Microbes Matter.

Not sure if my satire is more diected at Ginger's oncologist or the white people smonster is dealing with.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Now I want to start a hashtag, #notallprokaryotes.

What is even happening?

Well don't you do that, billlytea.

brillig

Hubby's daughter is going back to Bremerton, Washington, where she's getting a new job, and where she grew up. She's not a fan of Utah's summers and winters--don't blame her--and I suspect she came here because her husband got a good job here.

I greeted the news with a guilty "Oh, yay." Because having her nearby has been a source of grudging "I should contact her, see how she's doing". I'm horrible with that sort of thing, with people who might demand things of me I'm not set up to provide, ie, comfort and the possibility of digging into potentially painful things. (I'm a horrible person to have in a family, I am not someone who has much patience with other people's discomfort unless I really like you.)

But at least I can put my guilt into a backburner once she moves. I am curious as to whether her husband is going with her, there hasn't been mention of him, and I know they've had issues. But if I don't reach out to her out of a desire to comfort, I'm not entitled to reach out to her out of a desire for gossip.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Mucho ~ma for your Ma, DCJ.

And in I've Apparently Been Cursed to Live in Interesting Times news, we just got a message that due to a screwup at payroll, the paychecks that would normally show up today won't be deposited until tomorrow and, depending on your bank, might not be available until Tuesday (because obviously if a screwup like this is going to happen, it's going to happen on a 3-day weekend). They've already said they'll reimburse any overdrafts, and it's not like I'll starve or anything...just wish the nibbly ducks would move on to a new target. Sheesh.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I rested as much as I could today, but my ankle is still really hurting, and I think I might need to use my walker tomorrow. Blah.
