Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'm off to the eye surgeon in a few. Wish me no monsters.

Monsters!

Bev, is this the appointment to find out what can be done about your eye?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

No monsters, Beverly.

waves The Teacup household is settling in to our new routine. TCG goes back to work half time starting Thursday. So, there will be a new routine to learn. ltc is gaining weight at a good rate, and yesterday she charmed everyone at the Farmer's Market who ended up giving us free food.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I have a good internist, Dana, although I would recommend your friend try to find someone who specializes in an area relevant to her condition. I know that's harder without a specific diagnosis.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yeah, the problem is that what she has might be gastro, or might be muscular, or might be pulmonary...no one knows. Her latest doctor found something that might be it but just as easily might not, and he's pushing her towards an aggressive and unpleasant course of antibiotics.

Huh, usually aggressive and unpleasant antibiotics make gastrointestinal issues worse, not better. (Well okay, I guess they are used to treat H.pilori, but you know what I mean.)

That's exactly the diagnosis she's got now, but apparently it's common, and especially common in those who lived overseas. The doctor's kind of like, well, we can't find anything else, so *throws up hands*, let's try this. And she's understandably less than thrilled with that.
