I am so sorry, Epic. My mom lost her words too, so I know what that's like. I have many thoughts about your brother, but others here have said most of it already, and in nicer words than I would have used. He has his own journey to walk, and he is choosing to go it alone, but you don't have to go it alone too because you have your people. May you find the strength to get through this, and try to be kind to yourself as you do. Eat well, sleep when you can.
ON a practical note, grill the hospital social worker while you are there about home health care options. Many services send CNAs that you can interview for hire. If you can afford it, try to hire more care than you think you need so that you have time to take care of your needs and work too.

Every day this week I have been woken up by one doctor or another at 4 or 5 AM. Now it is finally the day we're supposed to be going home and a doctor from my office finally came to discharge me, but we're still waiting for ltc' doctor's office to discharge her.

ltc is fed, changed, and sleeping comfortably in her bassinet. Meanwhile, TCG has gone back to the hospital because the nurse messed up my discharge paperwork and he needed to go back to get the proper paperwork for my prescriptions. Mom is here, and we're having pasta for dinner tonight.
