So, just talked to my other cousin (cousin who lost his wife's sister), find out that wife actually died on the 14th. So, she could have called and said "Gracie passed away, not sure when the funeral is going to be, wanted to give you the heads up". Instead, she waits until the 29th, 2 days before, to tell me.

My cousin is getting married in a few weeks, and I wish I could go, but I don't think I can, because it's right when meetings and stuff will be starting for the new semester, and I'm going to have to go to those, plus start prepping lessons for my classes, since I'll almost certainly have at least one class that I haven't taught before. (New school uses the same calculus textbook as old school, and has the same class schedule, with 50-minute class sessions, four days a week, so I can keep a lot of my old lesson plans and notes for that without much hassle. But any course other than calculus, I need to start from scratch.)

Budgeting and paying bills is officially the worst. I hate it. I hate trying to put money aside and pay bills and have a life. Excuse me while I throw a spoiled white raised middle class girl hissy fit.

In completely silly news... Shot JLo's new show today. Long, hot, day. And while it is inappropriate for me to reveal things from the set on social media I feel it is alright to say the following: Ray Liota is still completely stinkin' gorgeous.
I'm sorry that for so many of us our blood families are less than nurturing. I'm glad we have each other, though.
My brother-in-law is awesome! Not only do we have a wonderful new adapted crib, but three doors that never closed properly now work perfectly!
I went to TJ's today and bought all the things. Including stuff I know I'll want around post baby. I also went to Verizon and upgraded my iPhone to a 6. After 4 years my phone was being all glitchy and weird and I wanted something more reliable. I also stopped at this chain place for lunch called B Good and had a delicious burger. Now nap and then wedding party for the inlaws.

I well remember getting the house together before Emmett's arrival. EM and I in his room, standing on ladders, painting the ceiling, listening to Crowded House and Sam Phillips.
The house is just about as together as it is ever going to be. Having the inlaws over last night gave us the push to finish things up.
Oh, and after doing all that work in the house, brother-in-law then said he was going to be useful and helped me cook. I wish he didn't live in NC. Although he is going to be here for the better part of a year on and off for a job. I must think of other things for him to fix.
