No, David. Not happy. I have a family wedding in two weeks and wanted to look good. I liked how my hair was!!! This feels like a tribble is sitting on my head.
I guess I need to buy a lot more hair bands and barrettes

I'm sorry. I can't really imagine you looking less than good, no matter what your haircut. I have faith that you can rescue this cut with product and barrettes. Something will work because you're just that damn pretty.
Sorry for banks and finance and haircut fail and stress of Buffistas.
Shir, did you get anything else? What did you put on the biscuit?
I had the biscuit with butter and jam. I also got a chocolate-mint thingy.
omnis, that schedule is a nightmare. Take care.
I'm a bit worked up by my parents. Apparently a signed setlist from a show I've been too (with a lovely story behind it, which made it absolutely dear to my heart and therefore deserved the room on the wall) got detached from the wall in my room in my parents' house, and somehow got mixed up in a bunch of other papers, which somehow got outside of my room/lost/thrown to the garbage. Instead of "sorry we didn't notice that piece of paper" apology, which I would totally get and understand because it's a piece of paper in a house filled with pieces of papers, I got a weekend full of "why are you emotional about it" and "relax, I'm sure we'll find it eventually" every few hours. That worked on my nerves all weekend so I just want to get over it at this point, but it seems that my mother thinks that if she'll say enough times that she's optimistic about finding the setlist, I will suddenly become optimistic too.
My parents' reason is beyond me.
Edited (the second time. First time for grammar) to say this: oh God. I think I realized what drives me crazy about my communication with my mom. She sounds like a voice in my head I try to kill cause it makes me look at and operate in this world in a very stressful manner (for me. Probably for others as well).
Solving this will be a pile of joy, won't it.
Tons of hugs to everyone. Pix & ND, bank~ma for you too. BoA is a PITA. I hope it resolves soon, for the positive. I know how much that loan will help y'all out.
Shir, not sure what to say. I'm going to cross my fingers, and hope that they know you love it, and are having it framed, or something, and are trying to be coy, to surprise you for your birthday, or holiday, or graduation, or some such. What? I can be an optimist sometimes.
Yesterday was a long day. Conference up in Oakland. Woke up at 4:30am. Got home around 10:30pm. Brain isn't sure what schedule to wake/sleep on. I need to shower and go into work for quiet time. And just don't want to. The Yankees are on TV, and winning against the BoSox (first game I've watched all season where they are winning), and just don't want to get up and shower. Tired. and have a big case of "don't want to".
Very tired, but from day full of win. Background: Tomato pickers in Florida are treated horribly, paid below minimum wage, often not paid even their pittance for all hours worked, subject to unprosecuted rape, and (as recently as 2010) slavery. Coalition of Immokalee Workers(CIW) has pressured a number of supermarkets and most fast food giants to pay a penny a pound more for tomatoes to supplier who at least minimally respect workers rights. In fast food world, McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, Subway and Chipolte's have agreed to join the i Fair Food Program Wendy's is the largest remaining holdout. Given the amount of tomatoes in single Wendy's item, a penny a pound represents a savings to Wendy's of a great deal less than a penny per item sold.
So in support of the CIW we tabled the Olympia Lakefair, a local festival. But as opposed to normal tabling what we did was video people dropping pennies in a hat as a charitable contribution to Wendy's. Then we filmed ourselves "donating" them to the local outlet. Hopeufully the video will shame Wendy's a bit, and contribute to the CIW campaign to bring them onboard with Fair Food Program.
I think it is a fun way to tackle a serious and rather horrifying subject.
That's fantastic, Typo. Crossing my fingers for a huge impact.
Sounds cool, Typo.
OK, a friend of mine on FB (who is a local friend, but who I don't see a lot in person lately) apparently attended a "cholo" party where they all dressed up and took pictures and so on. I know this because she mentioned it as being "fun" and posted pictures. I'm hesitant to comment on the pictures or status because several other people I don't know are tagged in them, and I don't want to start shit, but...is my other option "message her on facebook and say OMG DO YOU NOT GET HOW THIS IS FUCKING RACIST"?
They should meet my cholo ex-students.
Lord. They should meet some of the cholos from my childhood.
How is that even _funny_, much less can't you see how racist that is?
People.
