Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I made oatmeal in the microwave. Which is one step above opening a can of something, cooking-wise.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I make oatmeal in the microwave most mornings. I am laziness personified and do not want to wash an oatmeal-y pot.

Lately I've been sleeping too late to make breakfast so I pick up a bagel and muffing or some McBreakfast sandwich.

The McMuffin (particularly the sausage and egg variety) is good stuff.

Yes it is--that's what I usually get. And when I'm feeling decadent I get a Sausage and Egg McGriddle.

eta: Their sausage just tastes so good when you have it with coffee or hot tea.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I miss convenience food. I made tuna salad with tomatoes and cucumbers on an English muffin with a glass of milk. Which is as close as I can get to a no brainer. 45 carbs, a protein, and two non-starchy "vegetables".

All I've been thinking about for the past week is a milkshake. The glass of milk I just had with dinner is not cutting it. Is it August yet?

Mm, milkshakes.

I am so tired and realized about 3pm it's because I've had no caffeine today. I forgot to get coffee. No wonder I feel like ass! Sadly, have not yet had a chance to get some. But I on my way to the airport (on the rental car shuttle bus) and think I'll get some coffee before my flight. I somehow doubt it will help me motivate to get the thing done that is already a week over due. (It's due the week after it happens. Today was two weeks. Oops)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm just having one of those days when I'm annoyed at everything. Started this morning when one of my friends interpreted my saying "I keep seeing people on bikes doing really stupid dangerous things -- maybe there could be some kind of bike safety education thing?" as "When people on bikes are hit by cars and killed, it's their own damn fault, and they probably deserve to die" (which, huh? Then he compared it to victim-blaming rape victims for wearing the wrong clothes, at which point I just backed out of the whole thing), and it seems like everything I've tried to do all day has just lead to a ton of little annoyances that keep piling up. Tried to do some work and realized I forgot to email myself the file I needed. Tried to work on an online class and the video kept freezing up. And now I'm just so irritated at everything that every new thing is making me more irritated. I would try doing a yoga video, but there's all kinds of junk on the floor that I'd need to clean up first, and I know that would just get me more annoyed.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

H has started using one of these. He pours in the lightly stirred egg, cubes a turkey sausage patty and distributes the cubes evenly across the container, follows cooking directions while an English muffin toasts, turns out the egg and sausage patty onto the muffin, slaps on a slice of sharp cheddar and a sprinkle of Hungarian paprika, and it's a darn good lunch sammich. It's my bread, pasta, and rice portion for the day, but worth it. And I'm not hungry again till dinner time.
