Spike? It's you. It's really you! My therapist thought I was holding on to false hope, but…I knew you'd come back. You're like…you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever. Oh…he's alive Frodo. He's alive.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Sorry about the rotten morning, Connie.

Ass-kicking~ma, Strix!

Connie, that is a real kicker. I was visiting my dad one time when the phone rang and I answered, since dad is deaf as a fence-post. It was someone asking if my mother, who had passed away two years previously, was going to renew a museum membership. While two years was a bit of time, it was still a gut punch. It can take a while to lose that feeling.

sj, good luck with that glucose test. Why is it so many tests require drinking nasty stuff? Ugh.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks, everyone. I don't know if anyone will know the answer to this, but on this first glucose test I drank the nasty stuff and then was supposed to have my blood taken exactly 1 hour later. Only I think that 1 hour was off by at least 10 minutes because they called me in late and then couldn't get a vein. So, does anyone know if a late blood draw would make the blood sugar numbers higher or lower than if it was done exactly on time?

brillig

It's one reason I got rid of the land line. Sales people kept calling asking for Hubby, and instead of explaining, I made it so I didn't ever have to talk to them. I did enjoy ruining the NRA's shill's day, though.

It happens, erika. The woman from the museum was horrified to find out she'd called someone who'd died. And since she didn't try to convince me to get a membership in place of my mother, I held absolutely no ill will; it would be silly to.
