it was Audrey II the Zombie Climbing Rose.
Which reminds me that I should go prune our own Audrey II, because she's already reaching for the front porch and the power lines.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Zen, years ago my family had a small section of garden devoted to roses - Jackson and Perkins was the preferred source. One winter it got extra cold and killed off all the hybrid grafts, but the hardier root stock was still alive and thriving. Dark red, much less elaborate flowers than the hybrids. I liked them - they were kind of a tangled mess, but I enjoyed that. My father got disgusted, dug them out and put something else there (either the herbs or the canna lilies, can't remember which came first).
Askye, I'm so glad to hear that you have a plan you feel good about.
I was able to get out to the library bookstore today and tell everyone I shelve with about ltc. They were all ridiculously excited for us.
sj of course they were!! ltc is an awesome baby!!
I'm glad I started volunteering there; it's nice to have supportive people nearby.
It might be Doctor Huey, but I think the flowers are lighter red than that. That's what happened, though: delicate graft died off, hardy rootstock broke free. I like them, whatever they are. I'm pleased by their zombie moxie.
sj, glad you have good people around you!
Yay, zombie roses!
Yay, askye, For doing what you need to to take care of yourself. Not so yay about the insuance and bill.
Yay, people being ecxited with sj about ltc.
I have to be awake in four hours to get to the airport. I'm not even remotely tired. I might just stay up, and then sleep on the planes.
Did I mention that one symptom of the neuropathy in my feet and legs is itching? Itching, itching, itching.
I usually prune back my roses in january. I was a couple weeks late on that and then the unseasonably early spring sprung and all my roses started putting out new leaves weeks ago. Unless we have a major cold snap the climbers are gonna be way out of control this summer.
Ya'll who use OKcupid know how it sends you a message when "a good match" visits your profile. Well guess who visited my profile today? Horrible second date guy (no phone no job no car guy who managed to make me cry) has a new profile. Different user name, same profile pic. Either he cancelled his profile after that spectacular bout of shenanigans or just made a duplicate? Either way, I almost threw up in my mouth when I saw that photo in my inbox. I was tempted to look and see if the new profile is exactly the same or totally different, but then he'd know that I looked...plus I really don't want to waste anymore thought or brainspace on the jerk. But here I am thinking. Grrrrrr. I hate it when I let myself fall into drama. Even this relatively minor inner turmoil drama.
