The blood test was negative for neural tube defects (like Spina Bifida)! We won't know for sure that there isn't one until our ultrasound in a couple of weeks, but I'm still relieved.

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Yay, sj! That's wonderful news.
Thanks, Maria. I know that things can still go wrong, but I feel like I can breathe a bit easier now.
That's great, sj!
The flavors they gave us to try were Canidae and Hills. She preferred the Canidae, and it seems like a better brand.
I don't think Canidae is quite as good as Merrick, but if Canidae had any varieties without any of Harvey's allergens, I'd still have it in my cupboard. So yeah, when the time comes, go for Canidae. You know, some of the other premium brands do specialized veterinary formulas. I'll have a look around this afternoon and see if there are any other quality options out there.
That is good news, indeed, sj.
Great news, sj!
And thanks again, Andi!
If I were a cat, I'd definitely want Windsparrow to be my human.
That's really good news, sj!
Yay for good test results, sj. I was terrible about doing tests because I didn't want to have to fret over results. That goes for all tests, not just pregnancy ones. Ignorance is bliss?
My high risk OBGYN is pretty insistent about tests. I personally would rather be prepared if we find out there is a problem, we can have a pediatric neurologist, orthopedic, etc set up before the baby is born, but I totally understand not wanting to know as well. My mother was not prepared at all when I was born (because they just didn't do many tests back then), and I got immediately whisked off to another hospital for surgery, and she was stuck in her hospital for days before they would release her.
