Harrow: You didn't have to wound that man. Mal: Yeah, I know, it was just funny.

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Andi, you will be awesome, as you always are. Good luck.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Picture me smiling, cheering and mouthing the words to Drunken Sailor.

Always Anti-fascist!

My mother used to work with an autistic savant that would sing "I Will Get What I Want" for hours and hours if someone said "NO" outright. Mom said if it got like that, he usually did, so they had to work out other ways to say it.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Legislative committee meeting only went over time by half an hour. My bit went well. We'll chalk the nerves plus other people's stories equals me nearly in tears while talking up to passion for my topic. Thank you all for your support and encouragement.

Funny you should mention saying no without saying no, erika. I was just discussing that last night with a new staff member who was shadowing me. I emphasized that we have little to no actual authority, and trying to relate to the people we serve using authority that we do not have will make it difficult to build trust with them. The answer to "I want to buy [some really expensive luxury item]" is not "No! You can't do that!" It's "You may have to save up for that for quite a while." Likewise the answer to "I want to be an astronaut" is not, "No way, that'll never happen!" It's "Astronauts have to work hard and study math and science, maybe we can check out the astronomy club at the local college observatory this summer." And fun stuff like that.

Always Anti-fascist!

I hated that when I lived in one. Nobody really deserves twelve parents, anyway. For that guy, she ended up "How about Y?" instead of "No X!"

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Go, WS! I'm glad it went well. I'm so impressed with you and the work you do; I can't imagine that it's easy.

It was only it the 20s today, but the sun was shining and it felt wonderful! I went out with thessaly and bought all the things at the specialty market because it was so nice to just be out of the house and not have to have everything delivered.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Today has been a really good day.

This morning on the way to work I found a wallet and successfully found the owner. I had a great restaurant week lunch with a new friend. I've just about finished the paperwork and it looks like my affordable insurance will be great. Pretty sure something will catch fire on the way home...

Our wings are not tired.

Nice! It is clearly the beginning of a new trend in life of Trudy!

Trudy, I hope the rest of your evening is equally as wonderful.

Thrive to spite them

Andi, the people you work with are so lucky to have you not just to be there for them in an immediate sense but also advocating for them in big ways and small ones.
