Oh dear Sumi, sending many warm thoughts.
I'm freaking out a bit. My nephew in NY has been in the hospital all week. My sister just told me today. She didn't want us to have to keep things from Mom. But since he is in so long, and will be longer, she had to let us know. I'll go over to Mom's this weekend to be around to help her with the news.
He had been having back aches, but this wasn't unusual for him so he ignored it, as some of us do. He thought he had the flu because his wife and child were sick. White font for bodily fluids. Then the bloody pee got him to go to the doctor with my sister. While there he vomited in a bucket provided in the exam room and his mother didn't like the look of it and showed the doctor. He called the ambulance.
Some liver number that should be like 20 was like 10,000 or something and a bunch of other numbers way out of whack. Liver enlarged. Kidneys not so great. He went downhill and was delirious enough that he had to be restrained and sedated. He is now intubated too. I guess his numbers are improving, but now he has MRSA. Gotta love hospitals. They are talking dialysis now.
Obviously my sister is a mess. His wife's family has been helping with child and pet care so they don't need me to come up, but I want to hug her. He has great insurance with the state and he is a strong guy in his early 40s, great vitals pretty much through it all.
Any heath~ma that can be sent to the Adirondacks would be appreciated.
