Early: So is it still her room when it's empty? Does the room, the thing, have purpose? Or do we -- what's the word? Simon: I really can't help you. Early: The plan is to take your sister. Get the reward, which is substantial. 'Imbue.' That's the word.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Herding cats for fun

So happy to hear that tests are well with LTC. I remember way back when that Boy sj liked was dubbed TCG. Color me an old timer who is awfully happy about it all.

Today I watched the one hummingbird chick disporting itself in its favorite tree. The balance, foot and leg skills have gotten so good baby enjoys a vigorous scratch behind the ears with either foot. Another new skill is snapping at passing gnats, which is the first attempt at self-feeding observed.

Also baby has learned how to make a loud and definite CHIRP. Exciting because I hadn't been certain whether I was hearing anything. If a young person had been available their receptive little ears probably could have picked up a high note.

Got some great pictures today with my little idiot camera. There's one totally blurred shot of the mother flying about a foot away from my face. Proof about how close she's willing to get to my large lumbering self moving in slow time.

Open Wide!

Something I probably should not have done was to satisfy my curiosity about how close I could get to this hummingbird chick. I reached out and touched the branch it was sitting on, and it reacted by blinking at me, and then leaning over to poke at my fingernail a few times. Then it sat back and fluffed itself up and sat there very calmly.

I probably should not have tried to brush the bird’s little breast with my knuckle, but I couldn’t resist after the initial touch was at the bird’s will. I felt the heat pulsing from its body and slowly lowered my hand. Baby took that one without any fluttering. Then I decided to quit pushing my luck and let the birdie be for awhile.

Little Buzz let me know how she felt about my intrusive behavior by zooming by my ear and scolding me. How dare I approach her precious chick!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

KB you should write this all out in a long narrative. It's so enchanting!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Happy Birthday, Beverly!

Compassionately intolerant

I said it elsewhere but it bears repeating.

Much love to you Beverly. On your birthday and on all days!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Did I miss your birthday, Beverly? I hope it was a lovely one.

It was a nice day. Thanks for the birthday wishes! Today's birthday cupcake was decadent and enough to last me a while back to celery and hummus tomorrow!
