Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

The same brain, mental bootleg turns with no warning.

Yep. It's going to happen. And it sucks. It's normal, but that doesn't make it hurt any less. Roll with the flow and ride it out. For me, fighting them made it so much worse.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

In case it is in any doubt, erika is the best! I just received and awesome parcel from Powell's in the mail! My first thought was, "self you have not been drunk for several months now, how did you order something from Powell's and not remember it." But no, the package was from erika with the audio version of Go the Fuck to Sleep, a copy of Operating Instructions by Anne Lamott and a copy of Of Woman Born by Adrienne Rich! Best pregnancy gift ever.

My signed copy of Neil Gaiman's Trigger Warnings was also in the mail, and I'm still more excited about the gift!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh that's an awesome gift, sj. And well done, erika!

Lamott and Rich all at once--makes you want to deem Sam Jackson a temporary, honorary woman.

Always Anti-fascist!

You are so welcome. Well done, Powell's on the shipping too...wonder how SLJ would feel about honorary womanhood...

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I'm just sitting here chortling about "Go the Fuck to Sleep".

It was the first thing I opened (everything was beautifully wrapped), and I could not stop laughing.

Thrive to spite them

ooh! awesome presents!

I went to work and my goal was to make until 5 (I was scheduled until 6). I was mostly doing okay, tired and slow going. and then the coughing started. I left at 4. But I was on the sales floor and did okay.

I got Penny her prefered cat food so there's no danger of mutiny on that end. When I got home my trash can was still full and where I left it and I was getting pissed "When did they change trash day! Why isn't my trash picked up!" I had to put it in an akward spot due to snow so was hoping it would be moved so I could park easier. I had to walk in a snow pile.

Finally I realize today is Tuesday. Trash is picked up on Wednesday.

I'm possibly more tired than I've been thinking.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Oh askye, I hope you catch up on the tired.

The ick is finally releasing its grip on me. Just in time for K-Bug to come down with strep.

Though, I guess I can't claim to be back to 100% - I tried to check into the wrong hotel tonight. Like, totally wrong location/brand/everything.

Hah. I have done this twice now, in the past year or so. Once it was because the hotel had gotten switched after I imported my itinerary to TripIt, which I knew but forgot. Once, I just wasn't thinking at all, and it was the wrong hotel in the wrong part of the bay area (but I was going to be there the next week)
