Oh yes, snuggles help. I consoled myself last night with Lord Peter Wimsey fanfic and pizza. Harvey consoled himself with a dish of gooshy food and a hip+joint treat. We then snuggled up as a family including Daniel and Sammie to watch The Tick (animated).
Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Spooooon!!
I love the Tick, so much so that when my friends adopted their 8th retired Greyhound, I convinced them to keep his nom de sprint. They thought to call him Maverick or Iceman to fit with his brother, Goose's name.
Frankly, I think calling out the back door, "Goo-oose! Spoo-oon!" is so amusing, I'd never consider anything else.
When the gentlemen learned that Spoon is actually a superhero battle cry (they had no prior experience), they changed their minds.
I'm crocheting matching cowls for the boys and embroidering modified infinity signs...with the Os smooshed together on them.
Big, group hug for you and your snuggle buds, Andi.
My mother emailed this link to my sister and me. Because she thought we might be interested. I'm, just, ... what? (Note: it takes two seconds of Google to find out that pretty much every doctor says, "Don't do that.") [link]
Jesus god. Risking a steam burn on my hoo ha? No thank you. The logistics baffle me.
eta The comments are actually pretty good for the most part. Funniest so far "happy to steam my veggies but draw the line at my vaggie".
There's a Ravely thread on the steaming issue. It's pretty funny, especially the names they're using for vagina. I rather liked "thunderdome."
At least she emailed it to us, rather than tagging us on Facebook, which is her usual way of telling us she wants us to read something.
Ha, it would have been fun to see your mom tag you in FB with that one. Well, I would have chuckled anyway.
I have no idea whether it is hooey or not, but if I had serious cramp issues or whatever I would likely investigate it further. I never really had those issues, but I know women that suffer badly. My parts retired 14 years ago so not so much an issue. Fun comments.
For cramping, I would think a hotpad or warm towel would be a more effective way of delivering heat to the muscles that actually do the cramping.
Oh I agree, but I didn't have those kinds of horrible cramps so I don't know what I would have tried in that case.
Heated seats are about the best thing I've found for my cramps.
I wouldn't have thought to put the heat on my BACK... but something about the position I guess does a world of good.
Second best are those low-heat pads you can wear under your clothes for eight hours at a stretch. Even the hand warmers (which are way cheaper) shoved in the front pockets of my jeans help nicely. Hmm... maybe I should shove them in the back pockets too...
