I don't know about you guys, but I've had it with super-strong little women who aren't me.

Buffy ,'Get It Done'

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I love being validated here. I've only heard it his way a couple of times but it is so damn wrong. Actually, hearing it the second time freaked me out. How can two people be so wrong in the same way. Ancient. It's not a difficult word!

I did throw open the closet...you know, to reassure him.

Then, I was going to run out for my supper without him, but thought better of that. Lastly, I put the giant door bar against the front door.

Like some specter is going to use the front door.

Still, I feel better.

kinda

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

One of the many reasons I live with cats is they can reassure me whether or not there are ghosts around. So far, no ghosts.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

My problem is, I can't tell the difference between "ghost" and "bug too small for the human eye to see". I certainly respect the highly honed hunting senses of our companion animals. Once when I was sitting in a rocking chair, my cat-at-the-time Pachisi leaped onto my back. It felt like she was attacking me. The utter confusion and betrayal I felt... (Y'all. You know how much I cherish Harvey? Pachisi was my heart in a way that makes Harvey seem like just an ordinary cat. She was love and nurture personified. For her to do something like that was unthinkable.) And about two seconds after I sat back down, the chair splintered apart and broke under me. So I don't know whether Cagney is growling at ghosts, mice, or an NSA listening device, but whatever precautions you are inspired to take, bonny, seem rational to me.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

My cat Buffy has a creepy habit of climbing to the top of the highest bookcase she can find, facing the wall, and yowling. I've always figured ghost.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Heh. Toke sits on the table in the corner, facing into the corner, and then stares UP. Intently. We think she's hearing branches brush against the outside of the house at that corner, or possibly (though I fervently hope not) mice in the walls.

But what we REALLY think is that she's trying to contact the mother ship: [link]

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Laura, that sounds so hard. I'm sorry things are the way they are right now. I hope for better things.

Cheers, Andi. It is exactly what I was thinking, that he is on to something I can't sense.

When I walked out the door, the first time, there was a nefarious looking gent (to my freaked out eyes anyway) standing across the street from my house. I immediately went back in and took Cagney out with me to the shop.

A little while ago, he began reacting to a door in the great room. FREAKY.

Now I'm hoping it is just Lady Luck stumbling around before she finds the right way in.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh Laura, I'm so sorry it's been so tough with your son. It was so lovely to see your face today.
