[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Happy Birthday SJ!!!

Pix, I missed it, what happened to Becca? Must dig thru facebook.

Steph, I'd think that the level of last-minuteness is partially due them knowing they have an awesome employee that can do what needs doing to get it to print in such tight time frame. So take it as a big compliment. And I extend the calm~ma to you.

Waitaminute, Shir, I see you being all casual and trying to just sneak in. HIHIHI.
Yeah, I noticed that too!
Initiates tacklehug!

Tomorrow is my house warming/Independence Day party. I'm a bit exhausted in the cleaning/decluttering/hang pictures/find home for stuff/shopping/ etc. I'm not used to hosting parties. Looks to be small, only about a dozen folks responded. But that's still 3-4x the number of people that have been over here before. Fun! Found a rather cute little party-keg of Newcastle, for only $18! It fits in the styrofoam cooler. So, I'm thinking, it will go on the deck with ice for the party. It's chillin in the fridge right now. Will be firing up the new grill for hot dogs and hamburgers. And hoping the night is clear, so we have a great view of the fireworks. Looks like we will see 3 displays from my porch, plus all the city folk shooting them off in their back yard.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Parties are the best thing ever for inspiring cleaning and making a house look nice. They are helpful that way. Everyone eventually leaves and your house still looks nice!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Glad for Becca's good prognosis.

So, I saw D tonight. I knew there was a good chance of it, he had RSVP'd to the same event I had. This is how small the town is - he was probably going because it was organized by one of his coworkers. That coworker is best friends with my former supervisor. Yup. Anyway, it was hella awkward and I don't want it to be. I can't tell if he wants to be friends or not. I want to be friends, and if he doesn't it will hurt my feelings because he is such good friends with two of his exes. Not rational, I know, but it makes me wonder what I did.

Also, ISTG he walked up while "My Boyfriend's Back" was playing and as he walked away "Uptight (Everything's All Right)" came on.

Anyway, at least the first encounter is over with and let's hope it gets less awkward from here. Again, I'm not saying he was wrong to break up, I just miss being that close to somebody and the lost potential of the relationship.

Happy Independence Day to the American Buffistas!

So far, day is starting off eh. Woke up with screaming headache and neck ache. Slept wrong, I suppose. Then went to kitchen to pour some OJ. Brand new bottle slipped out of hands, fell to floor, shattered the cap. Thankfully the safety tab held firm, so nothing spilt. But now I have a brand new bottle of OJ with no cap. Press n Seal to the rescue? We shall see how it does. Shaking will be interesting.

Ok, more to do before party.

Porch and chairs are hosed down, and moped off the excess puddles (because the brand new porch doesn't slope away from the building, and doesn't pool near either of the drains). Hopefully they will be dry in time for the party.

Thrive to spite them

So my Fourth has been low key. Talked to my parents and my aunt. It's raining at the beach and was 64F this morning in the mountains at NC. I'm kind of homesick for the beach.

Will came over and we went to a snack shack for lunch. Then we, well we had plans...but my emotional state got in the way.

And then I discovered a tear in the linoleum (viny ?) kitchen flooring right in front of the fridge. It's small and I don't know if we did that when I moved the couch in, but it's awful close to the fridge. But something happened.

So now I'm worried about losing the security deposit because I RUINED THE FLOORS how could I BE SO irresponsible! I'm tired of my brain.

Compassionately intolerant

I've had a pretty great day so far, until about 10 minutes ago. The frat house next door alerted me yesterday that they were going to have a party...with lots of grimacing and apologies beforehand.

Truth to tell though, I don't mind.

Karaoke in the front yard? Whatevs. They usually do 80's pop, so no big. Competative beer pong teams? No sweat. Two enormo blow up pools and very little clothing? Eh.

But roman candles 3 feet from my windows? Not the-f on, dudes. Not on.

The neighbor child was screaming. Cagney looked scared.

I will NOT have another dog terrified of explosives.

I took the angry stomp around the corner to chat with the head of house. When I asked if the explosions came from them...through the sulphur smoke, of course...his response was "I don't know." He's nearly THIRTY! Isn't that the response of an 8 year old?

Then I got the sullen, "Sorry ma'am."

Sigh.

The parade this morning was a blast. Myself and the petcare manager had a lot of fun passing out swag and making contacts. From it, I made my very first ever video for publication and I'm pretty proud of it.

I hope everyone else's 4th has been a fun and safe one, free of any form of hearing damage!
