[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Heh. I've been cleaning my study-where-I-spend-my-life for the past two days, and I come here and find everyone's doing a clear-out thing.

I don't have a major problem with needing things to be more clean, but I need to have more people in my life. I'm going to start going out and doing things. As much as I tend to prefer to sit alone in my house and live via the internet, I really enjoy seeing people face-to-face sometimes too. And I want to do more interesting stuff.

Cindy, it was nice to see you here briefly! Miss you. And our mutual UK-based friends miss you too. (Amorphia's 37th birthday was last weekend. Rachie was there. A mini-reunion!) Hope you're doing OK these days.

hip deep in pie

I am okay with organizing things. (My closet classification is Short sleeve t's, long sleeve t's, cardigans, dressy shirts, button shirts on one pole, dresses, pants & skirts on other pole, all sorted by ROYGBIV order) Keeping things organized? Not so good at. Laundry baskets full of clean clothes are a prominent feature in my bedroom.

More than anything, now I want to meet more of you in person sooner rather than some day.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I REALLY need to clean up my act as well. Most importantly because my refrigerator just died and I have to be able to let the landlord in. But also just because. It is really bad and I can't really see an end, and all I want to do when I get home is rest. But I live alone, and to be blunt, I am a little terrified that someone will have to come find my body in all this squalor, and I don't wish that on anyone.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My apartment is just a total mess. I've been sleeping on the couch lately, since the living room is warmer than the bedroom (though I just got a heated blanket for my bed, so I'll be able to sleep in the bedroom now), and I kicked a bunch of the pillows off the couch, and I haven't actually unpacked my suitcase from when I went to NJ for winter break, and it's kind of exploding everywhere from me digging through it to find stuff.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

The Wife has one of those. After intense negotiations, it stays on TW's side of the bed. I can't deal with actually seeing it. (I get hypnogogic hallucinations, and have at least once woken up in the night convinced that things from off the floor are getting up and preparing to eat me. Which is probably scientifically possible given how long those clothes have been there.)

One of the things having a roommate does for me is forces me to keep most of the house looking fairly decent (...also the last roommate made me decide a house cleaner was a necessity once a month). My bedroom tends to stay awful but the rest of the place can be tended to in a jiffy b

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I wish I could afford a house cleaner, it's one of those things I despise doing. I really don't mind if my bedroom floor is used as a wardrobe, but I at least want clean carpets, counters and sinks in the other parts of the house. Before my roommate got a job, she used to do most of that, but now's she's working nights in a custodial job. Ah, no, not going to expect her to keep up in our place, too. I'm going to have to start getting familiar with the swiffer, again.
