So my son is in bed all day with a toothache again. What kind of OTC pain reliever works best for that kind of stuff. He says the topical stuff and my headache pills aren't touching it.
I am not feeling terribly sympathetic. There is this pattern of him coming to me terribly broken and needing fixing. Then after I fix him he never listens to any advice on how to keep from getting broken in the future. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. My nurturing well has gone dry.
Laura, I'd try tylenol or advil. What do you take for headaches?
We have around whatever store brand like Excedrin Migraine. Apparently the wrong variety. I'll pick up both the Tylenol and Advil.
Question - of those 2 which is less awful if you take too much? He is really bad about that and I won't be around to hand feed him 2 pills at a time.

Advil is much less awful if you take too much. Also, Tylenol can be really bad if you take too much and also drink alcohol. (A high school classmate of mine was in the hospital for a week from complications of a Tylenol/alcohol interaction.)
Exedrin Migraine has acetaminophen in it, which is Tylenol, so I'd advise against getting Tylenol if the Exedrin didn't work. Maybe just go with ibuprofen.
Clove oil is good for toothaches.
I tried without success to get him to do clove oil. Sounds like Advil is the plan then. I don't think he will be drinking anything.
Having a bone marrow biopsy to look for other reasons why I'm not making red blood cells was supposed to be a simple, in-office procedure. Despite their other deficiencies, my bones are apparently very hard. The nurse practitioner tried for an hour and gave up, so now I have to have it done at the hospital, which means not eating and a driver. Fuck. It was also a pretty damn painful hour.
My hemoglobin is still perilously low, so I had to get a type-and-cross on the way home, and I'll be getting a transfusion at 9 a.m. New Year's Day. That is, you may recall, the way I spent Christmas.
Please may 2015 be better.
