I don't give a good gorram about relevant, Wash. Or objective. And I ain't so afraid of losing something that I ain't gonna try to have it. You and I would make one beautiful baby. And I want to meet that child one day. Period.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Geeks are glorious.

You don't even know -- my brain is going "APA style is HIDEOUS! Why all the periods?!?" #editorwars

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

IEEE style if you presented it at the related conference:

S. Lastname, "I thought this shirt was clean: a study of the effects of laundering on fur deposits in common fabrics," in Proc. Conf. Household Animal Fur Res., Cincinnati, OH, USA, Dec. 2014, pp. 2-9.

AMA style is the reason I have to put all the periods back into the references whenever I get a paper from an author who does medical research. fist shake #editorwars

Hey, we're being clean and saving ink by getting rid of all that crazy crazy punctuation, man.

Suzi, your good CJ!school news didn't get lost in all our editor rambling! That's great news, in fact! I'm sure you're thrilled and he is too!

You can't just truncate a word and not put a period there! It'll bleed to death. Like my eyes, looking at it.

Our wings are not tired.

Wonderful news, Suzi! That is so good to read.

Oh, Steph, I know. As I was writing it, I was thinking, "This is so not IEEE style."

I love you all, and sincerely apologize for any pain experienced when reading my grammatically random posts.

No worries, Laura, B.org is where I come to escape from the awful grammar of the rest of the Internet.

I love/It's sad that we went from quasi-science to editor-geek in nothing flat.

grammatically random posts.

Wait. I say this ALL the time: anyone reading what I post on the internet must think my clients are INSANE to pay me to edit, because my syntax and grammar are...not exactly AMA style. I say things like "I cannot brain, because insomnia." There is no style guide in which that is anything but a shambling horror.

Really, I get paid to make things very precise, and in that context, it's important as hell. (Well, I don't know why references have to be SO exacting, but whatevs.) But otherwise -- I'm pretty sure my posts make me sound like a crazy person who never quite met up with a grammar textbook.

L. B., Steph. (2014). I thought this shirt was clean: a study of the effects of laundering on fur deposits in common fabrics. Annals of Household Animal Fur Research, 53, 234-257.

Ahem.

L.B., S., etc.

APA at my school - much like Hil, I have to check the manual Every Single Time because MLA is what I learned in school. Thankfully, no bibliography/reference pages at work. (Seriously thankfully now that I think about it. Like, I should go light a candle or something levels of thankfully).
