and I am in the not-dealing corner for elections
Right there too. I have totally avoided news and have watched a whole lot of Big Bang Theory.
It is good to hear your enthusiasm, askye. Very good to hear.
Buffy ,'End of Days'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sail I'm sorry about Chewie.
Laura, thanks I'm feeling so much better now that I'm tooth situation is healing. And I rode down with a supervisor I really like and respect (she started off as a sales associate) and another sales associate who I shared a room with. So it was just a fun, positive experience over all.
RIP, Chewie. Good dog.
Good night sweet Chewie. A flight of angels wing thee to thy rest.
Godspeed, Chewie. Carry your family's great love for you, where ever you may go.
Unfortunately I know women who wouldn't be able to cope without having someone else make decisions.
Oh Connie. This is soooo, so common. It is a joy to know that it is not the case for you. Your DH was a warrior, but you are no less.
I, too, am totally not dealing with the elections. I did my bit, and did it well. Now, I am turning my focus elsewhere.
In this season of gratitude, I want to thank msbelle for inspiring me join the Whole Life Challenge. It's been fun and, today, I exceeded my goal of losing 16lbs in 8 weeks. 17!!
Now, I'm excited to reorder my thinking and push to the end of the year, keeping up what I have been doing on my way to letting go of 20 more pounds. It may happen in the spring, or maybe next summer, but I'm committed now. This was the jump start I desperately needed.
Thank you msbelle!!
Good-bye, Chewie, you were a good doggie.
askye, that sounds like a wonderful time! I'm glad your tooth is better, too.
The cable in my room has been out since Wednesday. My room is where the DVR lives. I've had to watch TV one show at a time, with commercials, for three days. I haven't been able to catch up on recorded shows after primetime. It's killing me! Curse you, Time Warner Cable! (Which is pretty much how I feel about them even when my DVR's working, so you can imagine the Empress-level curses I'd like to see leveled at them right now!) Supposed to be getting a tech at toodamnearly tomorrow morning. I'm afraid my DVR might be a goner, which I wouldn't mind so much if it hadn't been nearly 80% full at time of coma. I say again, curse you TWC!

Also, sorry about Beloved Pup, Sail.
Yay for good days and positive revelations, askye & Connie.
Congrats for good health, Bonny!
Thanks for the ~ma and kind words; they are greatly appreciated.
Oh, Epic. that sucks. I feel your pain; my wifi has been crap for the longest time and I finally had a tech come out this week to fix it. I'm still not getting the streaming speed I should, but at least I can watch an entire episode of Doctor Who without the wifi cutting out every three minutes.
Mr Peabody bit the helper at the vet's today. There was some kind of tension going on, and the regular vet tech wasn't there. The woman who was supposed to be helping the vet was chatting with the receptionist. The vet, normally a mild-mannered woman, went over to her, and I heard the vet say, "I'm alone back there. If you're here, you're supposed to be helping." The person stomped into the exam room, clearly pissed off, and swooped down on Mr Peabody to put him on the scale. Mr Peabody is easily startled, particularly by things coming at him from above. He's also very protective and I was right behind him. So he bit her wrist. Apparently he didn't break the skin, but left big welts. He's never done anything like that at the vet's before, but the vet and the regular vet tech talk to him a while before they do anything.
Then the vet found that what I thought was normal itching was some kind of allergy that had led to a skin infection.
I feel like a terrible pet owner.
People who work with animals, especially in a high-stress place like the vet, should know to be careful with them. Dogs are dogs, and they react. People are supposed to be smarter.
