I felt like The Crocodile Hunter or something. I read a LOT on luring animals into traps this week.
Research: it always, always is a valuable life skill.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That is wonderful, Strix. Bella is a lucky kitty that she was fostered by you while her family was found.
This is my first vacation without Hubby. It sucks. We'd be planning on runs up to the city to poke around or a visit to the Dinosaur Museum. But that ain't happening. I have to keep talking myself down from a panic attack as my subconscious discovers a new thing that I have to do on my own. Yay for things smacking me out of left field.
I've made many plans for deep organizing and cleaning out. I've got to remember to actually give myself vacation, not just a shift in Things I have To Do.
And I still have to schedule and go through that cataract surgery that got put off.
do some local stuff - like see a movie in the middle of the day. Is there a nice hotel nearby? schedule a night there with a pool and a nice meal
Ok the last is what I want to do - by myself.
Things will smack you out of left field. They still do for me. Don't fight it, but don't wallow in it either. Feel, accept, and distract yourself. I couldn't revisit anything that reminded me of him during those times, so I did new things, no matter how mundane. Figure out something that you want to do that he may not have. And don't feel guilty no matter what.
We're here for you, Connie.
I just realized that sounded very preachy. Not my intention at all. We all deal with this in our own way. You are a brave woman too.
Zen, I know you probably don't want to take more medicine or supplements but I highly recommend taking D-Mannose for UTIs. It's the active ingredient in cranberry juice that helps prevent/treat UTIs. You get the benefit without having to drink the cranberry juice.
And since cranberry juice is very acidic it can also cause problems with heartburn and cause pain in senstive bladders. So the D-Mannose eliminates the acid issue.
Andi, sorry you are dealing with crappy management and scheduling issues.
My company is either doing a temproary or permanent change to the scheduling (I've heard conflicting things) normally the schedule is out for the current week, by Saturday it's out for the next week and they have the following week written but not posted.
Only, either this week or from now on we're getting our scheduling 3 days in advacne. So instead of next week's schedule already being out it'll come out Thursday. Someone said it's to reduce shift trade requests, but if you're giving people basically 1 full business day notice about their schedule then you'll probably have more shift change requests. They havent' said when it's going to be posted online and it usually takes a full 24 hours for the whole shchedule to show up online. And someone said they thought everyone's schedule was going to be made on the district level, which makes no sense whatsoever, because the district can't know all the little details.
Although soemone who works here evidentally doesn't know them either becuase Wednesday they have 1 person closing for invenotry and she doesn't know how to do any of the closing stuff.
On the other hand I made it through work and had mostly real food and my mouth only hurts a little.
askye, I'm glad you are getting better, even if your work scheduling situation isn't.
I've informed her firmly she is a very naughty boots. And she will be getting chipped ASAP. And possibly a collar with a GPS chip.
She is full of bad kitties and even more full of good kitties because I'm so damn glad she's home.
She's a cat, a chip is helpful and super good, but go for tracker if you figure out how. Because cat.
