I am a faint-at-the-sight-of-blood person, but now that I've been on the receiving end of 2 transfusions, I asked my doctor how soon before I could give blood. he said a year. Gives me time to work up the nerve.

I just donated last month and can’t donate again until after my half marathon in a couple of weeks, but I will be going in again in November.
I made the mistake of trying to run the day after I donated blood last time. That was a Very Bad Idea.

My worst was going down to a 4. My hemotologist wasn't sure how I accomplished anything. Can't donate anymore because I'm not allowed to give away any red blood cells and I don't have "straight enough" veins to donate plasma.

Before I got cancer, I donated six gallons of blood, plus I did platelet donation. I'm still on the plus side.
Give blood! It's the cheapest charity there is, and there are cookies.

Once my doctor has confirmed that I'm not anemic myself, I will give blood in honor of our hemoglobin-challenged Buffistas.
Oh, that thing I said earlier about how my appetite is about gone? Well, apparently that doesn't count when I'm PMSing. The Army needs to divert some resources to air-drop me a crate of ice cream and Snickers over here. This is a woman on her period who's barely eaten in four days. This is a state of emergency, Mr. President.
