I'll probably go to the vet, but I'm just stressed and really rushing my work now, and this is a shitshow of an article where all the statistical data (which is not one of my strengths) appear to be wrong, with no explanation of why the percentages are off by as much as 50%. So every other line I have to put in a comment to the authors to ask them to clarify their faulty fucking math.
Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Ugh, Steph, I despise editing papers that are math-heavy.
Because they're ALWAYS WRONG. How can you tell me that 41 of 250 patients is 70%??? Even *I* can see that without even using a calculator.
Today is the first day of "Welcome Week". Three days of orientation, then Thursday and Friday begins classes. (these two days fill in for the Thanksgiving holiday, where those days are off, so the Th/F classess still meet 10 times). Why we start so late is a mystery to me. I wouldn't mind starting a few weeks earlier, and winter break start with Thanksgiving! Break up the year a bit. But, I'm just a simple staff guy. What do I know?
Wow, that's a super short semester!
We are quarter system. 3 quarters of ten weeks each. Then there are two summer sessions, each is 5 weeks. Not a lot of classes in school of the arts in the summer sessions, and no productions.
So far the kitty is okay. The vet thinks it's a combo of allergic rhinitis, lower humidity now that fall is on the way, possibly an infection, and a lot of inflammation (with an ear fungal infection to boot). So she got an antiinflammatory shot, and a shot of antibiotics, and some stuff in her ears. She is righteously pissed. I asked about antihistamines to stop her sneezing, but the vet said if the problem is being exacerbated by low humidity, antihistamines will just dry her out more, which will make things worse. So for now we're going to set up the room humidifier near her bed and see if that helps. (Presuming she'll stay in her bed. Right now she's in full "fuck you I am going to go hairball in all of your shoes" mode.)
I'm glad the kitty is all right! That was scary, kitty.
Yay, kitty.
I think I've had that. Minus actual hairballs.
