I felt like a real employee today, taking cursing out of an e-mail so my supervisor wouldn't see it.(Not at him. we're cool. I just decided to maybe not be *that* irrepressible, in case he may want to hire me sometime.)

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Grumbleboowhine.
I have a cold. First one since I can't remember. Feel like ass.
I think it is part of the process of changing habits with the Whole Life Challenge. I've lost 12.5lbs in the last 11 days.
It's shocking how cutting out wheat, corn, processed foods and sugar has made my body sigh a huge sigh of relief.
I am, by no means, starving myself. In fact, I'm having a greater experience of being 'full' now than when I was eating crap.
Who knows. Maybe I would have gotten the cold anyway. Lots of folks have come into my home bearing germs over the last week. But, it is kind of disappointing that, just when I started feeling really good, I'm felled. Feh.
I am afraid I'm getting a cold too. Am downing EmergenC and hoping it'll help. I have dancing weekend plans this weekend! No time for sick!
Also annoying: I placed an order for a new phone online last week. Apparently it didn't actually happen, so now I have to make another one??
I don't have a cold, but my fall allergies have hit and hit hard and it came hand in hand with seasonal depression.
Someone on my FB feed posted a thing about how great the local library is, and someone commented, "I'm there right now?' I was thisclose to asking "Was it fg?"
I think I'm getting a sore throat or something. My throat doesn't really hurt, but it feels swollen, like there's something stuck in it.
bonny, I felt better when I wasn't eating simple carbs than I ever did in my life. It seemed like it was a one-time thing, though. Once I went back to eating them, stopping them never had the same effect again. Weird.

Seriously. The last two weeks have been busier than the last several months combined. I have no time for this!

I won't say I felt great right away. Definitely not that. But in the last week, I've been sleeping better than maybe ever...Where I would normally wake up every 2.5 hours, I have been waking up once after about two hours and then sleeping for SIX hours at a go. That just blows my mind.
I was kind of cranky for a few days...not really jangly from no sugar or caffeine...but it turns out that non-muddled sugar-free clarity is jarring.
I've been moving more, obviously, and today is just a huge drag. I feel low when I sit still but moving at all is exhausting.
How sad that so many of us are feeling ooky. BOO that.
Get some sleep! That is really key to beating the incipient cold.
I'm on my way to bed right this very minute!
Good health to us all.
Wow! Ok. So. A few weeks back, while I was on staycation, an email went out that our Dean was stepping down, and going on sabbatical. I just had a two hour meeting with one of the connected faculty members, and learned what it was all about! (the meeting wasn't supposed to be about that. The actual topic of the meeting was the last 25 minutes or so. He was in a very gossipy mood, and I was not stopping him, since I never get inside info here).
It seems he was offered to step down before being fired. He was found at fault for some egregious things. That has happened twice before. The first person just quit and didn't press charges. The second person took a "bribe" with a huge pay increase and new job on the other side of campus. What annoys me, since he stepped down, there is no formal blemish. Which means, he can easily do this somewhere else, and they would be none the wiser at hiring.
Since our Chancellor went to The Ohio State, our Provost was promoted to Chancellor, and they are holding off hiring a Dean for our school, until they have hired a Chancellor. So we have an interim Dean that everyone loves. It was announced, it would be a long interim process. The interim dean has been faculty here for 30 years. Has been chair for 2 of the 4 departments. He had a little Dean/Staff meeting, to assure us all is good, and thank us for being the backbone for the school of the arts, yadda yadda yadda. After that meeting, it felt like Umbridge was out, and Dumbledore was in. We finally have someone in charge that can speak! And seems educated! And has empathy! Personality! And doesn't come off as an inarticulate used car salesman!
That being said. It seems there is a new day dawning. Let's see what happens. Finally, a change that folks won't bitch and moan about. (the dean was not loved by anyone!).
And school starts next week! Yippee.
