?!, Teppy. (there are some thoughts I literally do have to make a conscious effort to stop having, because I do have a dormant germ-phobia, and ebola is kind of one, but still)
Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
This week I keep dealing with 20ish year olds that are "afraid" of computers and don't know how they work and don't want to know anything. One of them had an issue she couldn't really explain because of her computer illiteracy but she wanted soemone to tell her how to fix the problem over the phone.
She also seemed offended that we would charge her to fix the problem, I think it was a password issue with something. I'm not sure becuase she kept getting hysterical and talking over me. I suggested she come into the store and that wasn't an option. It was an option one of three I gave her, but she didn't take any of them (her options - coem to the store, call Microsoft or call 800Geek Squad). Then she hung up on me.
And in stupid fucking insurance companies. One of my coworkers has Type 1 Diabetes. He's really funny and a nice guy and kind of a mutant - he's left handed and red/green color blind - but very nice. But he's been sick, which has made his blood sugar not stay stable, so he's used more insulin. And he ran out before his refill date. The insurance refused to refill it.
So he had to go to the ER and get admitted to the hospital so they could manage his insulin. The insurance company covered that, which I'm fairly sure cost more money than just approving the extra insulin.
You know, I understand insurance companies not wanting to pay for more narcotics if the patient runs out too quickly, but -- it's not like there's a black market for insulin. Jeez. That's moronic.
I don't have anything useful to say right now against willful ignorance, bigotry, and hate, other than "I'm against it."
Brain fried. Work eating me from my bottom. #%£&ing psychotropic med changes. Still haven't got that person back in balance and the awesome, responsive, gave-me-her-cell-number psychiatrist has left ... what? the practice? the state? the country? I dunno. But she's gone and the new one is not even worth the effort to cuss out.
Sadly anti-semitism and anti-arab racism both abound. For extra points sometimes in the same person.
Well, I had my first interview with the Michigan job at 3:20 today and got an email to schedule a follow up interview at 7:45. I think this means they liked me. And now to put together a presentation along the lines of--eLearning: How to Make it Not Suck.
Liese, I'm sorry about your father-in-law. Much peace to you and your family.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Liese.
I'm sorry ,Liese . peace
Will and I went to MA and CT today, he had to drop a contract off to get signed and asked me if I wanted to tag along. I'm not supposed to but we've done it before.
This was near Springfield MA and I'd never been to either state before. We ended up in CT because I wanted to go to Cracker Barrell for lunch and Will said, we might as well go into CT. So we did, his lunch was good, mine was disappionting but they had Cheerwine! So I got some (Cheerwine is a NC based cherry soda).
While we were in MA we found this Buy and Sell Junk/Vintage place with these shipping containers. Lots of furniture and this really cool scrapbook/order book for office furniutre from the late 50s I kinda wanted but the guy wanted too much.
The most interesting pieces of funiture were these two dressers made of plastic that looked like castles. I'm sure the original set had more pieces - this is one piece [link] and this is the other [link] the shipping container was very narrow and crammed with furniture so it was hard to get a good picture.
