Fashion question -- if one is wearing a dress with narrow straps such that the bra strap will show, it is better to try to match the bra to the color of the dress, or the color of your skin (i.e. strappy black dress with black bra or brown bra)

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Black bra.
sj, I'm sorry you're in pain.
Erin, I'm sorry the florist is an idiot. No excuse for that.
Oh yes. And/Or sew little snap straps into the dress strap to contain the bra strap.
I feel like I'd want a ruling from Stacy London on that, Vortex.
I think it's probably one of those deals like matching socks to shoes or trousers where you could go either way depending on what's the closest match.
Okay, now what if the dress is not just black, it's a black and white pattern. Still black?
Vortex, it depends on what type of pattern.
Oh yes. And/Or sew little snap straps into the dress strap to contain the bra strap.
Or safety pin.
I match the dress and if it's patterned, I try both colors to see which will be less obvious.
I always try to sort of match the dress so if the straps show it looks intentional.
'ma to you Sean for the interview today!
erin, I am sorry. That SUCKS.
sj, hon. I hope you can get relief soon.
I always go with the bra with the pretty black straps. NOTHING matches my skin tone, plus I HATE white and nude bras. But YMMV; I am pretty much, "If you don't like seeing my bra straps, you may proceed to smother and die in my magnificent cleavage, although it is entirely too good a death for you."
And strapless bras? Let's all share a hearty laugh together.
