Oh my gosh. The idea of alcohol when I'm feeling that barfy...ugh.

I had to ask my friend to stop saying the word 'butter' it was triggering me so badly.

I felt the symptoms creeping up again, so I took another dose at 6 hours.

Can I just say, hallelujah!

The eyes and ears problem has lessened, even having to be in an actual meatspace meeting...for Aflac.

I am hopeful that I won't need much more of the medication, but having it to hand is incredibly comforting.

Yay, no headaches Laura!

Thanks for the whisper Burrell. I think I'll pretend to meditate for a while and just sit in a cool, dark, quiet place enjoying the fact that my stomach is keeping still and my eyes are no longer aching.

Ahhhh. Sweet relief. Thy name is Excedrin Migraine and I cannot appreciate you enough.

Thanks for the advice and good thoughts everyone. I am much obliged.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a gift for a boy starting college? He's going to still be living at home so the usual care package stuff doesn't really apply.

Some of the professors here are asking for assignments turned in on flash drives, so maybe a 8GB or so flash drive that is cool to his personality. They have some fun shaped/themed ones at Office Max.

If he is in the Apple universe (MacBook of some flavor, or iPad) maybe an iTunes gift card for apps to help take notes (or play games, or buy music. etc.)

If he's driving into school everyday, a gas gift card wouldn't hurt.

Everything else is coming up a bit blank, without knowing more of his personality/major. Or price point. (I didn't suggest tech gadgets, figuring they were a bit pricey).

Great idea! I'll send him the 8 GB Tardis flash drive!

I'll have to see if he got his license yet. Last I checked, he hadn't.

Right now he is at a 2 year college, looking to transfer to a 4 year school in a television production program after the two years. I'm not sure what degree he is looking to get from his current school. Right now all of his classes seem to core requirements.

Our wings are not tired.

That's a good idea, omnis. I know my boys always appreciate flash drives. They use them for various things and seem to lose them too!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Right now he is at a 2 year college

Maybe find out where he likes to eat around/on campus and get him a gift card there? Like Subway or wherever. Especially if he isn't driving, so he stays and eats lunch there.

That's a good idea, Teppy. I really want to make up a care package like gift with a bunch of things so I'll have to check out what is near his campus.

Hahaha! OK, that was entertaining.

ION- if you are forced to read a bunch of boring documents at work, I try using the computers "text to speech" option. It can make it a little more entertaining, at least in the short term. It keeps you from skimming. And you get a great laugh at some of the pronunciations. Although, I was also entertained by the "breath" sounds between sentences. As if that makes it more believable. All in all, it's helped get through this 30+ page document on OSHA regulations.

The flash drive and local eatery gift cards are great ideas. I've got a few folks to support in that way.

The hivemind is amazing.

If the campus is large, and parking far from class, maybe a skateboard or razr (or whatever they are called, skateboard thingy with a handle) so he can get to class a little faster, with less effort.
