[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

That would be a lot of fun, brenda! Do you go out every weekend?

Practically. If I'm not out of town I'm generally there at least part of the weekend. I think I'm going to head up tonight at some point. I got an awesome newbed frame at goodwill for $50 that is currently strapped to the roof of my car with like a hundred shock cords.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

arrgh. In an effort to fulfill a request of the students and faculty, I am endeavoring to make our equipment inventory accessible, with a reserve/sign out/sign in ability. I started this in FileMaker Pro, a program I know fairly well, just not the newer versions. But in order to implement it in such a way that folks can access the data remotely, I need the server version, which we do not have the budget for. I approached IT, to see if the university has a blanket license. Nope. But, he suggested another way of approaching the problem. That is where the aaargh comes in to play. It's an online database that is very IT like. He has created a basic framework to get us started, to test and see if the idea will work. But I'm trying to figure out how the different aspects of the database interact. And it's making the brain hurt... on a Friday.... late in the afternoon. Hence the aaaarrgggh (that is getting longer each time I type it). Why do I feel the need to make things better???

Carry on. Venting over.

Thrive to spite them

Congrats Aimee!

I saw my new therapist today and basically I just told a short version of my life. Again. I'm kind of getting tired of talkign about the samse stuff, but next week will be more getting to know each other/goal setting.

Then Will and I met up and had a late lunch/early dinner.

Work has been really hectic the past 2 weeks they are doing a major major (and much needed) overhaul of almost all of the systems we use everyday. But it hasn't been without its problems and I don't think August which is one of the 3 biggest shopping months for the company is really the best month to do this.

The system so I can take orders over the phone has been down for most of 2 weeks. Yesterday it worked briefly for about 10 minutes. And there are other issues just making life harder for everyone.

It's back to school shopping and THIS is the month for the big roll out of the new systems? Why not JULY? July would have been fine.

A position opened up in computers and I applied for it. If I stay where I am, I'll be the only full time person with part time people and seen as kind of a leader. If I move into computers I'll work under a supervisor I think is okay (rather than directly working with my current manager) and I'll have goals for getting credit card applications and sales goals and consequences if I don't make them. And not the excuse of "well there weren't phone calls". I applied, I know other people are applying, I may not get it.

My parents are having a barbecue. I was supposed to go back to PA before this, but with the painkillers I'm taking for my wrist, driving isn't a good idea. So, party, with a bunch of people I don't really know. I said hi to the people I do know, and chatted a little bit with them, but I think I've had enough of people now.

Our wings are not tired.

I hope that you are able to relax and get some pain relief, Hil.
