Man, I wish it were a veggie. Then a bowl of Corn Pops would get a serving of veggies out of the way! (Also, I like the way you phrase it, calling corn a grain. I have a food-police friend who made a snotty comment one time about corn and carrots being "a bowl full of sugar." *Actual* corn, not Corn Pops. That's just snarky and shitty and food police-y.)
Now I want Corn Pops.
ION, I think I'd better go to Urgent Care today, partly for Day 3 of this migraine, but partly because my right ear (which is on the side that the migraine affects and the canal hurts SO MUCH [which is par for the course with a bad migraine]) is swollen. Like, the outer ear part. And possibly the canal. That's new. And troubling.
I've got one quick think to turn in for work, and then I'm going to saddle up and go.
Ugh, migraine. Yay Corn-Pops (not that I have any, dang it). Boo jerky friend.
Boo jerky friend.
This is actually not my concern-troll friend from the Blizzard debacle; this is someone who is generally a kind person but has no tact filter, so sometimes she busts out with things that make me think "Did you MEAN to say that out loud?"
(Sometimes I wonder if I'm that person. Surely I must be, in some circumstances.)
WS, good luck with the meeting. I hope the dietician backs you up.
Teppy, that sounds awful. Feel better!
Tea: Where the heck did this week go? I'm completely not prepared for vacation. I need to start making lists.
WooHoo. Jury Duty. Hey, it's a new courthouse. Shiny new Jury Room. Clean tables. Chairs that don't wobble. It's not bad at all. But, I've been here 5 minutes. Let's see how I hold up when boardom kicks in.
Thank you for doing your civic duty, omnis.
Good luck at urgent care, Teppy.
Hope you can hone your lists so they work for you, sj.
We have free wi-fi. Which is great. Seems they block a lot of sights. Facebook being one of them. "No social media in the courthouse" or some such banner. Kinda funny. But hey, Buffistas isn't blocked! Woot. Livestream updates from the court house.
UDPATE: We just lined up for parking validation.
That's all for now from the court house. Stay tuned for more breaking news.
(I did look around as I approached this morning. Very happy to NOT see any news trucks. That means no big, high profile case that will last forever).
My mom served on a jury for a theft case where the prosecutor was just phoning it in. They found the defendant not guilty. The judge told them when it was over that they had done the right thing even though the guy probably had stolen, because the prosecutor just had not done his homework. May you get assigned to a fairly easy case like that.
Omnis, best of luck with jury duty.
Honestly, I'm not even sure what needs to be on these to do lists. I'm headed out with Thessaly and maybe that will help me focus.
