Hmm. It's sounds like the finest party I can imagine getting paid to go to.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

So Steph -I stumbled on to Bob's Burgers tonight and it was the first episode I watched.

I've been so wrong not watching this before now. I need to get Will to watch this too.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Thanks!!

And wow, i totally flipped out like a mammal earlier today at work (and shockingly, when i used that phrase my coworkers just looked at me blankly as tho it wasn't Something Said.) With the background of friend's mom's very recent tragic passing...my own mother hadn't been returning my calls. Which is super wierd for her, usually she calls ME three times a wk and then complains on how long it takes me to respond. Her birthday was Thursday so of course I called her but she didn't answer, no biggie. But then she didn't call back later that day. Odd, but nothing to be worried over. Three days and multiple voicemails and txt msgs later I got legitimately worried. So worried that I called her neighbors (the ones who have a key) but they didn't answer. Then I tried calling her sister in MD, again voicemail. Then I took a break about 30 minutes into my shift to call her local police to ask them to check on her...mostly for a car check. I figured if her car was gone, then she was on a li'l vacation without cell phone service and I could chill the fuck out. Awesome Fairfax police require a bloody teletype from my local police to affirm that I am who I say I am (?!?!) and that i'm not some crazy stalker person bent on harrassing her mother via police. Now, rational me gets that every police agency is different. Exhausted, emotionally anguished daughter me wanted to cut someone and after finishing the call as politely as possible I burst into fully hysterical tears at the outrageousness of having to take one of our police ofcrs away from actual crimes to deal with this.

The advantage here to working at a 911 dispatch center is that a supervisor immediately whisked me into the office, handed me tissues, and Made Things Happen. Phone calls were made, information was exchanged, i took a walk and then put myself on kitchen patrol for a bit while I calmed down enough to consider doing my job without killing people. She txtd me, I called her, everything was fine she just lost my voicemails with all the excitement of birthday then graduation shennanigans and was rather mortified to have a cop knock on her door! So everything all fine except, apparently, my sanity because I hit a well and then slammed through it like the cool aid guy. Good new is this is my friday so next three days off work so I can catch up on my sleep while still spending the evenings doing and overly complicated puzzle with my BFF.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh hon. I'd have been freaking out at that point too.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh hon. I'd have been freaking out at that point too.

Me too.

I'm glad there was a happy ending that only ended up embarrassing your Mom.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I have had that very same freakout.

My sister and I decided that there needs to be some sort of reverse life alert bracelet for parents, so a blaring alam lets them know they're just aout to be reported missing.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Erin, I would have done the exact same thing. That's scary, and maddening, and -- fortunately -- ultimately a relief. Parents, man.

So Steph -I stumbled on to Bob's Burgers tonight and it was the first episode I watched.

What episode was it?

Thrive to spite them

The one with the video game where Bob's nemesis (I'm assuming it's his nemesis) puts Bob Sux and Bob takes his kids to family fun and the mom thinks they are taking sailing lessons.

You know, that one is pretty low on my list. (Which I guess is a way of saying, if you liked that episode, it gets SO MUCH BETTER.)
