My great-uncle has always been kind to me, as has his wife. So, I'll suck it up and go to the wake tomorrow and deal with people who seem to feel that I am less than family simply because my father had the bad luck of dying young. My one uncle on my father's side usually at least tries to make an effort to stay in touch with me and let me know when these things happen, and the fact that he didn't call really hurts right now.

I sent a note to One Word Gal, asking if she is all caught up on sleep. Figuring, well, maybe she was hungover yesterday, or had a rough week, or something. So I asked if she was all caught up on sleep. Again, a one word answer. "Yes". @@ OK, maybe she's not a good writer. Maybe she's dyslexic or something. She is Asian ethnicity, maybe she was born elsewhere, and English is a second language. So I sent a note asking if she wants to meet for a cup of tea or a phone call. Online dating is not easy. As much as I'm bitching, this is far easier for me than going to a bar or some such. No skills there. I guess I just don't understand, if you are interested in dating, sign up on a dating site, then why so absent/quiet/whatever? Eh, I guess I'm not always logical myself.
