"The Buffistas care where I am. I could fire up my tablet and be talking to somebody who cares about me in under a minute."

TRUE!

Very true!

I paid a bunch of bills today and met with the plumber about getting out tub fixed (the overflow pipe is leaking into the basement). And I still managed to fail at adulthood by missing my hairdresser appointment.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

No way! Dealt with bills AND a plumber! That's a B+ easy, no way it's a Fail!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

"The Buffistas care where I am. I could fire up my tablet and be talking to somebody who cares about me in under a minute."

Never doubt it!

All I've accomplished today is eating enough mozzarella sticks that I don't want anything else. I've spoiled my dinner! Isn't this what moms teach us not to do when we're five?

Some of them were overdue, so maybe not a B+. Although I did make dinner for the first time this week. Do I get extra credit for that?

I always feel sort of manic the couple days following surgery. I don't know if it is something in the IV or the zantac they give me (I remember having weird side effects from zantac in high school but don't remember what they were). Anyway, this time I decided to take advantage of it and try to deal with some of the clutter I've accumulated. So far 4 bags of excess paper (magazines, old bills, etc) are out the door. I may even attempt the 40 bags in 40 days challenge. I just hope I can keep it up.

Thrive to spite them

Not a fail at all!!

Connie, you do always have us. And I keep thinking about you during the day and hope that the world is showing you kindness in small ways.

I sort of had my 1 year review (i9've been at the store almost a year!) and it was really good. The most stuff I got quibbled on were things that were partly out of my control and my manager totally acknowledged that. So we have a business program where if customers say they are buying for a business we can submit leads to the org that handles business sales.

I had one lead that lead to a $30,000 sale and another one that lead to a $60,000 sale. And all combined it's been $120,000 in sales that the store gets credit for. Managers are impressed by that.

Plus I heard back from the therapy place and I got an intake appointment in 2 weeks.

Yay, askye! I'm glad to hear the job is going well; I can't believe it has been a year already.

Plus I heard back from the therapy place and I got an intake appointment in 2 weeks.

I still need to go back and try to find a therapist on the list that I am comfortable with.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That's great, askye! And managers should be impressed by that.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

best possible chemo~ma, Ginger!

Mostly dropping in to share a little gem: i set up a call on a chihuahu puppy in a fenced backyard, psrby said had it's head stuck in a food can and was afraid to go into the yard to help in case, ya know, homeowners came home and found him trespassing and manhandling one of their puppies. Fair 'nuff. Clearance note from officer: "got can off puppy head". Dunno what it is about that phrasing, but I cannot stop laughing.

(And i'm thrilled that my choice to send police only, not fire on an "animal rescue" paid off. Of course the police dispatcher wanted to hand if off to fire...but seriously...it's not like they needed special equipment to free the pup. Just opposable thumbs.)
