You guys both loved Firefly, right Connie? As demo'd by Zoe, white is the Chinese color for mourning, IIRC.

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Thanks, Ginger, but one of the things dragging on me is having him waiting for resolution. We thought it would be a simple matter of telling the relevant department at the University, but then we ran into "I don't know" and "I'll have to check" and all that. It's not what he would have wanted, but he wouldn't want this to be a burden, either.
White is a very sensible color--if I learn to eat more tidily.
Connie, I'm sorry both about the body donation and the money concerns.
SJ, how are you doing over there?
To be honest, not great. I didn't sleep very well over the weekend, partly because of fireworks going on all night, but for other reasons as well. And as much as I was trying to enjoy family time, I was just exhausted and wanted to be alone by yesterday morning. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow after the d&c.
If wearing all black isn't an option, one of the Jewish mourning customs is to wear a torn piece of black ribbon pinned to your shirt.
Interestingly, I discovered that several places do research on cremated remains.
Really?
That sounds intriguing.
sj, I'm sorry this is dragging out for you.
Connie and sj, thinking of both of you.
Shir, stay safe.

I adopted that custom after Mom passed, because I felt like I needed some sort of signifier of my grief.
You're in my thoughts, Connie.
