Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Figs make me think of Indiana Jones. That poor monkey.

Things are starting to calm down in my world. School is out. Summer theater is in place, and starts technical rehearsals on Tuesday. Only stressor left is the wedding I'm officiating for my besties. Hosting the 4th party for their out of town guests, helping with the bachelor party, plus the usual rehearsal dinner, and... well, this introvert is trying to not be overwhelmed.

Yesterday we had a staff outing. Bowling! Woot. My team won first place. Not for our bowling abilities, but because they had random colored pins, that score you bonus ten points. We got about 80% of those, and it really boosted our scores. After the bowling, I had a very long discussion with our new Development Director. It went great. Sadly, it was outside in the glaring sun. My arms and face are rather red. Thankfully I have a HUGE aloe plant, so snipped some of that and applied liberally. This morning feels a lot better. Hopefully the mild burn will result in some increased funding from development office. Apparently nobody knows how to play the game, of having a wish list on hand. New gal wants to tackle projects that need funding. It's easier than just raising generic operational money. I have lists. You tell me price range, I can spend that money. Hey, a fella can dream.

Hivemind works, as I bought fresh figs yesterday. I have some brie in the fridge, so I am going to slice the figs, put them on top of the brie on some ciabatta and have a lovely open faced sandwich for brunch tomorrow.

I had planned to have it tonight, but some friends were driving through Hartford on their way to Boston, so I had a late lunch with them and am still not hungry.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Plei, I have a scent question for you. I've been drawn to frankincense like wow lately. Was considering getting a bottle of that Ancient Resins oil you mentioned. What do you think?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I have given in and taken one of the tylenol 3s because so far I'm in a ton of very unproductive pain. I was only resisting taking it because I was afraid it would aggravate my already upset stomach, but I reached the point where I really don't care anymore.

Our wings are not tired.

I hope it helps, sj. Not fun.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Daniel, I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt. All my sympathies to you and your family.
