Always Anti-fascist!

I really did think we were starting to get somewhere, but not really, I guess. That's the part that makes me the most disappointed.

Our wings are not tired.

Of course it is disappointing, and of course you can't help but hope on some level that he will change. Sorry.

Things could be better on the parental front here. My mom is in the ER most likely with pneumonia again. Just waiting for the x-ray confirmation. She gets it too often. Her husband, my sister, and my nephew are with her. I expect they will keep her because of her age. She will not be happy. She has had a cold the last few days and grudgingly agreed to let my nephew check her lungs regularly (he does lots of EMT stuff). The ER said it sounds like just a part of one lung, so hopefully they will just IV her some drugs for a day or so and let her go.

I need to get my act together and get north for the summer so I will be next door to her. DH is pushing me out the door! Hope by end of week.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Laura, ~ma to your mom.

Erika, I'm sorry your brother continues to be such a pain.

We went to the movies today, and now we're home preparing snack dinner for friends tonight. I'm attempting to make a lime and herb simple syrup for cocktails.

Our wings are not tired.

My sister lives about 1-1/2 miles away and visits at least a couple times a day and my nephew is very close. His wife is a teacher and should be off for the summer soon and she will visit a lot too. My step-dad dotes on her and I am confident she is being cared for lovingly. I hope they don't keep her in the hospital long.

So much to do, but I will feel better when I get up there. At the moment I am thinking of driving up with my eldest son and the dog and leaving Bobby with his dad to help finish projects here. We'll see how the plans come together.

Mmmmmm, cocktails.

Always Anti-fascist!

Not his fault this time. He has a point, even. I just hate how shocked he can be by simple things. The sun's hot, water's wet, selfish people do selfish things. Der. Yeah, Laura, hope your mom will be back in shape soon.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Angry. I never get to talk about myself. I feel guilty for even wanting to. I would like to be able to talk about my problems without being overridden by someone talking about their much worse problems, or trying to distract me by talking about inconsequential things, or derailing the conversation yelling at their kid, or simply changing the subject because they're uncomfortable. Maybe going back to a therapist was a good idea just so there's someone who will listen to me and shut UP.

Grrrr. I'm sorry Zen.

Our wings are not tired.

Had a good update from my sister. Copy and paste because it is late and I am going to bed... (xpost to Natter)

hi...just got home from the hospital. had some good news. When the doctor came in this evening with an update from the pulmonologist after he had the opportunity to review the xrays, etc. more thoroughly, he found that the infection was not as large as he had originally thought because he found that there was a shadow on the xray making it appear larger than it really was. since he originally had said that it wasn't large this is particularly good news. now believe that it started as a virus that wore her down and developed into pneumonia. she was told that folks over 70 don't usually have fevers until things are seriously bad and that they need to react to simple symptoms like a cough or body aches much more seriously especially at 92 yrs old. there were no problems with her blood work. they had gotten two courses of iv antibiotics through her already and had her on a nebuliser (sp) a few times and expect to send her home tomorrow for sure with some oral antibiotics and prednisone. thank god as she was not taking well to being incarcerated at all. amen for now.

Relieved!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Zenkitty, you deserve to be heard.

Laura, that does sound like good news.
