No. You're missing the point. The design of the thing is functional. The plan is not to shoot you. The plan is to get the girl. If there's no girl, then the plan, well, is like the room.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

So sorry, Sail. I'm glad he was so well-loved.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Between D giving me the wrong time and my inability to figure out the time difference correctly, I just watched the wrong graduation ceremony. Trying again at the correct time tonight.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Sail, I am so sorry. Much ~ma to you and Elliot both. Even though it's the right thing, it's still hard.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Congratulations to D, sj. And I'm glad you get to watch the ceremony.

Sail, all best thoughts to you, and a gentle passing for Elliot. He'll be joined by many Buffista pets who've preceded him, no doubt. Be gentle with yourself. It's never easy to let go, even if we know it's best. Peace and comfort, love.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I just signed up for an archery class at the local nature center. Eeep. I hope this doesn't end up as one of those things like Tai Chi where I have to make peace with being the worst ever in order to get through it. Its ok if I'm really bad at it if it is really fun - like dancing. I don't care that I'm a terrible dancer. I'd rather be the worst dancer on the planet than the best at never shaking anything.

Thanks! I just watched the correct ceremony.

Go, Windsparrow! Archery classes sound awesome.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Sorry Sail and Calli.

I read the above conversation and I realized I have never had kombucha. Hmm. I need to rectify this.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

So sorry, Sail. Much passing ~ma to Elliot.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Oh now, so sorry Sail ~ma and purrs and hugs (if you want them)

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Thanks, all. I appreciate the kind thoughts like you wouldn't believe. I do think it was the best thing to do for Elliot, but it's still really hard to let go. This is the first time I've been catless in 16 years. It's a bit of a shock not having an excited pet greet me at the door the way I've been used to. At least I got to get out and give him a nice send off with friends, tonight. I drank a Gumballhead beer (named after a comic book cat) in his honor. We all tipped a glass to him and bid him a good passing.
