Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My landlord responded to my email in pretty much the way I'd expected, but I can stay until the end of June. Even if I do stay with this job, I don't really want to stay in this apartment, with her acting like this, but moving to another apartment this summer and then (hopefully) moving again to somewhere else next summer would be a pretty big expense, and a huge hassle.

This was her latest email, after I asked for an extension of the lease until the end of June, and said that, by the end of May, I'd either give her the signed lease for next year, or give her 30 days notice that I was moving out.

It would have been appreciated to have this choice in a timely manner. I have had to seek you out about any potential issue, and, sure enough, there is one that affects me seriously, although not you whatever. Total loss on summer rental per academic calendar! Killing. I will cooperate under duress, as I have no choice.

I have absolutely no idea what she's talking about with having to seek me out about any potential issue.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Landlords really shouldn't whine at their renters. Ugh.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

That email says to me: do what you need to do to make it work for you and disregard any concern for impact on the landlord.

And she keeps harping on how I didn't give her enough notice. She asked me several months ago whether I'd be staying next year, and I told her I wasn't sure, and she didn't give me any deadline then about when to let her know.

Our wings are not tired

What is written into your original lease for the terms when the lease ends? You should just roll over into a month to month rental situation. If your lease has a clause for automatic renewal to the full term of the lease then you've got a bit of a sleazy landlord to begin with.

Exactly this.

All is well that ends in pizza.

It was my last dealing with a landlord that led me to buy a house.

New owner bought house, lied to my face he would allow my cousin Steve and I to keep renting, then when he took over the ownership, gave us 1 month to get out, extending it to two months at triple the previous rental amount.
