Ugh Connie, that's a huge amount on your plates. I hope his procedures go as smoothly as possible, and that the car stuff all sorts itself out.

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Darby is currently pitching in at the new house by gleefully digging up half of what I planted yesterday. I'm sure from her perspective hole-digging is an unexpected new shared interest.
Connie, tons of comfort~ma! I hope the next few days go a bit smoother.
Well, then, she can pay for what she wants. I understand if she feels that there needs to be something, but if she is the only one that feels that way, why should you pay for it?We shall see how she reacts to mom's decision. She will be visiting at the end of the month.
Connie, lots of ~ma.
My sister knows real estate law, and I talked to her about my lease issue, and she told me what to email back to my landlord. I'm kind of scared that, when I send it, the landlord will respond with another screed telling me what a horrible person I am, and I really just can't deal with that right now.
Hil, I hope your landlord's next tennant is your old doctoral thesis advisor.
Connie, I have no words. May the strength and solutions you need come - with fanfare or without.
Super-hot (for May) weather and crazy winds lead to expected results. Big brushfire in San Diego. So far just affecting communities to the north and east of my home - no structures or injuries yet, thankfully. But with the winds not likely to be controlled anytime soon, very tense. My home should be fine, though the air will be unbreathable for a while to come. My home unlikely to be affectedeven with shifting winds, but I still wish I was there rather than here.
We got the winds and heat. Not so much on the fires, yet... yet. It's bound to happen soon.
Yep. I remember during the last really big fire when we were thinking we might have to evacuate, we couldn't figure out why we couldn't get a hold of OC family to see if we could stay with them. It was because Irvine was also burning. We didn't hear about their fire, and they didn't hear about ours. Same climate, same conditions, same results, unfortunately.
Oh god, Epic. Stay safe!
Not to long before leaving San Diego, when I lived in Overlook Heights (next to USD), Normal Heights burned completely. Those tiny little houses went up like matchboxes. Everyone was just stunned.
The community came together in a heart warming way and the neighborhood was rebuilt in record time, but so scary and sad.
I'm hoping this fire is contained sharpish.
