[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Because books.

Lee is not allowed to play online during the workday anymore, which sucks. She's around, though! Just in Natter mostly.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I ordered a Smaug t-shirt from Zulily on 4/10, and it just shipped today. I'd already forgotten about it! Is it normal to take 8 days to ship a thing? I might have been spoiled by Amazon Prime.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I'm totally the slacker on this jury....but i also kinda feel like it's the lawyers' jobs to convince me...why should i have to take notes?

And if there's anything you're unclear on you can consult the transcripts while you are in deliberation.

Compassionately intolerant

It's been a lovely day and, it's settled. I'm going to my first con tomorrow. May it live up to it's "Awesomecon" name.

Comfortable shoes, check. Hand sanitizer, check. Geeky friend, who needs to go to re-up his membership as one of the 501st? Check.

Wish me luck!

Thanks for all the b.org birthday wishes on FB, dear ones. I'll reply personally to all of them tomorrow.

Returning to regularly scheduled life.

eta: The aforementioned friend lent me Frozen. Why didn't anybody tell me there is a whole couple's counseling scene? I loved it.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Bonny! If you're still here, Birthday Happies to you! Enjoy the con!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Zulily does take a while to ship. They wait until the sale period is over before filling orders.

Hippo Birdies, Bonny!!! I wish you much awesomeness.

Went to the Rockies game with my "sister", "nephew", and CJ. We had a blast.

Awesomecon was truly awesome. I had a ton of fun, chatted up untold numbers of strangers, oohed and ahhed over people's clever costumes and, admired artists' works and yukked it up with my young friend.

Next time...two day tickets. We stood in line for the costume contest (observing only) that we missed a lot of other stuff.

In the exhibit hall, I had to hold on to G's backpack so he could guide me along. My biggest challenge was keeping my mouth from dropping (and staying) open.

I did wash my hands a LOT, so hopefully no con-crud for me.

G is a lapsed member of the 501st and we had a great time reconnecting him with the Legion. He's a bit shy, so I ran point. The leaders of the group were so charming and welcoming, I considered joining up!

There are a few photos on FB but I was using my cranking G3 iphone, so the quality is far inferior to the joy represented in the smiles.

I can report to y'all, that when I briefly walked past Nick Brenden, he seemed well, if quite tired. While I watched, he walked out from around a high table and threw his arms around a fan. I read his lips, "Aw. I love you too."

Also. Ernie Hudson has taken amazing care of himself. That dude is CUT. Unlike the rest of the photo ops, his featured one of the original Ghostbuster Mobiles, a huge, blowup Slimey, a Stay Puft Man, music and a troupe of junior Ghostbusters. A whole experience.

There were many, many wee people in the costume contest. The youngest was a 6 month old, 5th Doctor. "The Steampunk Family" (Dad, Mom, early 20s daughter) served as judges and were delightful. In the end, they were so charmed that they dug into their own pockets to come up with two $10 prizes for two kidlets who did a great job on their costumes. "Don't let your parents spend this!"

The woman who won first place was debuting her first costume in her first contest. I wish I could name the video game it came from, but except for looking crazy uncomfortable, it was really impressive.

It wasn't an officially sanctioned event, so there was really only a trophy for first place, but some people clearly worked hard.

When G showed up to pick me up he asked who I was dressed as. Um. These are actually my clothes. So, we decided I should tell people I was Miss Foster from Dr. Who, because G and his girlfriend gave me a plush Adipose a while back. I didn't take the Adi with me because I was afraid he'd get dirty!

I'm a bit amped on caffeine. Do NOT get the espresso smoothie at the Con. Those nerds mean business with their go-go juice.

Our wings are not tired.

That sounds completely fabulous, Bonny! I am so glad you went and that awesomeness happened.

Hah. I am at a dance convention--I left "early" (around 1230 ) last night so I could get up an go to classes from 9-2. No lunch break. Then napped all afternoon so I could stay up late tonight. It's 315, and I'm not super tired but my feet hurt and I still need to dance tomorrow, so I figured good time to leave. It's sorta depressing though, because on the one hand, amazing dancers to watch perform and people to dance with and classes...on the other hand they are all soooo good, it reminds me how super far I still have to go, which is sad. I wanna be GOOD!

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Ah, Facebook. Drew and Kristin, I apologize for not realizing that someone with Drew's last name could be so incredibly ignorant as to be insulted by that allusion. *sigh* No, just didn't realize that pointing out the obvious might kick up a potential shitstorm. I'm going back under my rock now.
