Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.
The change also affects my monthly infusion for my bones, but for my first two infusions of this year, Kaiser charged me the old rate, so I had no clue about the change until it was too late to go back to my old plan.
Shit like that makes you start thinking about conspiracies. Damn it, Ginger, I'm so sorry. I hope someone can find a way to fix this mess for you. It's so wrong.

Hubby's home. They're thinking it was a reaction to the chemo as the heart attack markers are not present. We got the definite impression that they didn't think his cardiac history was a colorful as it is. The ER people don't have access to the drug list that he presented to the oncology people yesterday morning, and the oncology department is 7 floors up from the ER. I don't know if its HIPAA stupidity or interdepartmental noncommunication.

Heh, speaking of non communication, i've been playing phone tag with this GI/liver specialist for more than 3 wks trying to get the results after my latest MRI. Not really a huge concern, it isn't getting bigger...but it also isn't getting smaller and all the reading i've done strongly reccomends surgical removal due to the possibility of spontaneous rupture/bleeding out internally. I'm cool with reducing the likelihood of an er surgery with a planned, routine situation. Anyhoo....phone tag since the office doesn't seem to understand "don't call me during x time, i'll be at work and i can't answer my phone." Like, it's not just inconvenient, i'm tethered to my station with a headset constantly taking 911 and non emer phone calls, i really can't answer my cell phone. In fact, I could be fired for taking a personal phone call while on the floor. Latest msg from dr was sort of an "oops", apparently the nurse who called to talk to be about the ERCP had me mixed up with a diff pt. So no ERCP for me. There will be a different kind of unpleasant biopsy, which IIRC from earlier consultation will involve a CT-guided very large needle. I was prepared for that far more than for something going down my throat. Makes more sense. Will be discussed on Monday when i am Not At Work and can thus Answer My Phone.

Here's a story with a happy ending: I remember my MiL getting hit by the costs of chemo in a similar way. One month it was $300, the next it was $3000. My husband and I had to absorb the extra cost as she couldn't afford it. With the social worker's help we kept looking for alternatives, and the third month the manufacturer not only charged us $3 for the medicine, they reimbursed us for the previous month's costs.
They should film that and show it every Christmas.
